This report delineates the various atrocities--and their consequences--committed at the hands of a rogue federal government.
The gist of the atrocities committed in the government-initiated massacre can be summed up in the words of the FBI Deputy Assistant Director Danny Coulson, who wrote the following memo at the time:
'Memo: OPR 004477 Something to Consider 1. Charge against Weaver is Bull $@it. 2. No one saw Weaver do any shooting. 3. Vicki has no charges against her. 4. Weaver's defense. He ran down the hill to see what dog was barking at. Some guys in camys shot his dog. Started shooting at him. Killed his son. Harris did the shooting [of Degan]. He [Weaver] is in pretty strong legal position."'

That quote (4. Weaver's defense. He ran down the hill to see what dog was barking at. Some guys in camys shot his dog. Started shooting at him. Killed his son. Harris did the shooting [of Degan]. He [Weaver] is in pretty strong legal position."')is from a contemporary FBI memo made around the time of the trials and hearings that Martin links to in his column.
Martin, in his column, proffers links and arguments about the rogue behavior of the government as a refresher summary and then offers the Shatner interview as the latest iteration of the 20 year old saga.
He follows standard editorial style writing of the last century.
Read Martin's column with the embedded links carefully and all should be clear.
Hope this helps,
Best regards,
What questions were not asked?
You said the government was wrong in a lot of ways. In which way were they correct? What was correct about an armed siege on someone who failed to show up for court?
You know for a fact that the agent portrayed himself as a white supremacist? You know for a fact he is a Jew-hating, white supremacist?
Funny, I read the agent was pretending to be a biker. Weaver sold two weapons, and then the ATF agent asked him to saw off the butt. There has to be some kind of entrapment in there, because Weaver did not initiate making the weapons illegal.
Even the Marshals wanted to give Weaver until March 20 to appear, but a zealous US Attorney instead indicted him in a grand jury.
When did he pull a gun on a deputy?
And unlike the FBI snipers, Weaver did go to trial. He was acquitted by a jury or had the charges dropped on all charges but failure to appear in court. He paid a fine and spent some time in prison. Maybe you should read up on the case a little.
He didnt refuse to go to court. The original date was Feb 19. Then it was moved to Feb 20, but one letter said March 20. Weaver didnt go on Feb 20, and the Marshals said they should wait until March 20 to be fair. The judge said no, and a warrant and indictment followed. With these events, Weaver believed he could not get a fair trial, and then decided he would not go.
Also, what taxes did he not pay?
The wife was in front of a door holding a baby.
The son shot at an agent who had just killed his dog.
Would you put US Marshals in the position of staking out a perimeter and shooting dogs to bring a man in for missing a court date?
They werent trying to arrest her, so how was she resisting arrest?
The only reason her children were in danger is the US Government had snipers outside her window.
Her personal views on anything have absolutely no bearing on what happened, so even if she was a “crazy extremist” that doesnt make her a criminal.
If they didnt shoot her on purpose, then we have really crappy snipers.
Her son was already murdered by the time she stepped in front of door, so he wouldnt have been in the “standoff.”
Proof?
Plus, just because a lot of people agree with you, doesnt mean you are right. Just look at Obama voters.
Thank you so much for posting that film. What a nightmare that was.
Clinton was really on a rip, wasn’t he? He cooled his jets once he realized he was not going to get away with it.
He went after domestic terrorists...the same ones ole Obammy has targeted now with the Patriot Act machinery. Obama can order any “terrorist” murdered now. No more raids of revenge needed.
The guy went from not wanting to hold terrorists at Gitmo, to getting permission to kill them on a whim.
Oh don’t water board those poor fellers.
This seems a tad bit more than a mood swing to me. ;^)
As far as the subpoena thing. I see that as the trigger point. It escalated when Randy failed to appear. I think (been many years since is studied it) that there was testimony in the trial where a clerk said that she tried to point out the error to the Marshall's but the ATF wouldn't give in on bringing Randy in.
I think it was the huckleberry tax. Doesn't the IRS require you to send them 40% of all the huckleberries you pick? /s
Raider Sam has an even better memory than we do. He put the fine points on the subpoena snafu in post #104.
Bingo! Thanks RS.
Only if DainBramage reports you.
Just waffling
You guys are good.
My mistake.
No way Bush wouldn’t have done anything of the sort. Why’z everyone always pickin on W?
Just waffling
You guys are good.
My mistake.
Best regards,
Uh, does FR have an explanation or an apology for this as far as anyone knows?
Not that I'm aware of.
I know many folks did a happy-dance to see the last of the pompous self-aggrandizing slug.
