I take that to mean “illegal” and no one wants to go there.
If he was a legal immigrant, they would say so loudly and repeatedly. It is much like the way they convieniently "forget" to mention party affiliation of democrats when they are writing a story about corrupt politicians. If they don't mention it, you know it's a democrat. If they don't mention the "immigrant" is legal, then he isn't.

According to the FBI, the 9mm offers 91% one-shot stops...the .40cal about 95% and the .45 about 96%. All very effective rounds with hollow-point ammo.
That said, cops on the street know that 4 out of 5 folks who get shot with anything...almost anywhere..."fall down dead". No they are not REALLY dead, they just give up. The other 20% will keep doing whatever they are doing until they bleed out...running, shooting, fighting etc.
It's ONLY the denial of oxygen to the brain that stops a determined target. Either through a headshot or bleeding out. In the case of bleeding out, it can take anywhere from 20secs (multiple large caliber rounds in vitals) to MINUTES.
Very little difference in the 9mm vs .45 under that scenario if they guy is one of those 20% and he's shooting back.

well, MacArthur Park isn’t like that anymore!! My brother lived on the edge 15 years ago and it was an illegal, drug and gang HQ at that time... always a shame since LA’s best Deli is on the corner, but you take a chance even parking your car there for takeout! Now a sewer of homeless illegals complete with shopping cart vendors selling ears of corn and other unsanitary food stuffs on the curb while drug deals go down in the park. It’s almost a police nogo zone... welcome to Azlan!
