Documents say scholarship money should go to her relatives

Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson apparently asked the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation to send scholarship checks directly to her two grandsons and two greatnephews, rather than to their colleges.

Johnson has insisted repeatedly that she left scholarship decisions to aides.

But two letters she sent the foundation from 2006 undermine claims that she wasn’t involved in obtaining $31,000 for her relatives and two other ineligible recipients.

Scholarship money...Goes to the school for tuition first and THEN any leftovers to the student for incidentals - like dorm and books. The PERSON WHO ISSUED THE CHECKS to the students should be fired and charged with mishandling of funds!

he 2008 directions that the foundation distributed for the program state that scholarships cannot be paid directly to individual students.

"All scholarship checks will be made payable to the institution of attendance. Scholarship checks will not be made payable to the student," the instructions read.

Please accept the enclosed scholarship checks for Preston Moore and Gregory Moore. If possible I would like for their checks to be made out to them instead of the University," Johnson wrote in one letter to the foundation, providing the Plano home address for her great-nephews, Preston and Gregory Moore.

She is a crook, plain and simple.

And as much evidence as there is against her, she’ll probably still be easily re-elected! Obviously, anyone who challenges her will be a “racist”.

She is a crook, plain and simple.

.....and a stupid one at that.

I see no difference in her and a bank robber that writes out a robbery note on the back of one of his own personal checks.....

I fear minorities have been conditioned over the years, actually decades, to know there is practically never any real followup of funds given them by the government. To expect even the most cursory of audits, as would be expected of any agency run by non-minorities, would be called racist. So for over 40 years now millions and millions of dollars of tax money has been handed over to agencies and there's been practically no oversight of where those funds go or who gets them. Time and again schemes are exposed, usually quite by accident, where the money intended to help minorities went instead to buy minority votes and/or line the pockets of those running the programs.

And since it was considered taboo to look into the handling of funds provided minority agencies the oversight of all agencies has fallen by the wayside as resources became more and more scare. As with most government programs things end up being bass ackwards. In the business world when resources become scarce they are more carefully monitored. Not so with government.

Every single program that provides tax funds should be audited very carefully. Too bad if the cost reduces the amount of graft available.

The DMN is doing a great job on this. However, the fix is in and the MSM is largely ignoring the story.

Officials at the House ethics committee and the Office of Congressional Ethics, which also looks into allegations of wrongdoing by U.S. House members, have declined to say whether Johnson's actions will be investigated.

By the way, did the kids even bother to show up at the colleges?

Or did they just pocket the money?

23? That’s amazing.

So when is she going to trial so that she can later go to jail?

Our MSM is following the liberal playbook of playing down this story...this is national news folks....and all it really gets is local token coverage.

Tom Delay is still being hounded.....
