New polls spell gloom for Obama's Democrats

WASHINGTON (AFP) – New opinion polls Tuesday made painful reading for President Barack Obama's Democrats, cementing conventional wisdom that they face a pounding by Republicans in November's congressional elections.

The surveys, published after the Labor Day weekend, the traditional campaign kick-off date, suggest voters have soured on Obama, see him as too liberal and are increasingly pessimistic about the sluggish economic recovery.

At a time of high unemployment and economic pain, it appears that the cocktail of hope and change that powered Obama to the presidency has drained away and that a short era of Democratic political dominance may be closing.

Yet, the polls also suggest that despite their anger at incumbent Democrats, the public has little genuine affection for Republicans, opening possible lines of attack for the White House as it seeks to limit the damage.

A Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll shows Republicans have a yawning 49 percent to 40 percent advantage among likely voters, which would probably be enough for them to grab back control of the House of Representatives.

All 435 House seats are up for grabs along with 37 of the 100 Senate seats in the November 2 election.

Several key analysts believe Republicans are in reach of winning the 39 seats they need to capture the House but are less likely to snatch the Senate.

Should Republicans win or capture both chambers, they could spell the end of Obama's sweeping reform agenda and usher in a period of tense divided government.

Any candidate that has a 9 point lead is not going to be yawning.

“...but are less likely to snatch the Senate....”

That’s ok. We’ll finish the job in 2012 when we take the trash out of the White House and drain the swamp.

usher in a period of tense divided government

Usher it in??? This is the most relentlessly partisan, divisive administration I've ever seen.

My prediction, after the Dumbocrats receive a sound drubbing in the midterms, Hillary Clinton resigns her post as Secretary of State to start her insurgency campaign against Barry. Question is, does she attack him from the left or right?

Agreed! There is a mood in the nation and people are pissed! It is not pro-Republican but rather anti-Washington and since the dems control Washington it is anti-dem. The blantant in-your-face way the dems, especially Nancy Pelosi, went after the Tea Partiers and Town Hallers acusing them of being Astro Turfers and Nazis and then passing the unpopular Obama Healthcare bill—proof of its unpopularity was in all the bribing and back room deals they had to make to get MEMBERS OF THEIR OWN PARTY to vote for it—is going to come back to defeat them. In fact, much anger is directed to the idea of the backroom deals and and skullduggery used by Pelosi and company.

Usually I have to be careful talking about the democrats, as I teach at a university, but this year people won’t stop talking about it. They feel betrayed and are ready to vote them out. Many of them had distain for Bush and the Republicans but now I feel in them a deep anger that they didn’t have against Bush that they now have against the dems. That doesn’t mean they now like the Republicans but I believe they’ll tolerate them because of the betrayal of this country by the socialist dems.

Republicans are not getting a favorable view from a lot of the conservatives in their base
Bingo! You are right. Many of my friends are long-time GOP voters who have been sorely disappointed by the GOP establishment. They are also ready to vote in droves for conservative candidates (they may happen to be GOP). So I can see where 40% of the GOP voters answer that they do not have a favorable opinion of the GOP and still be jazzed about voting out a lib and replacing with a conservative. This, coupled with virtually all Dems saying they do not like the GOP, and you wind up at 30%. But it is not to be used to forecast any less of a pounding in a couple months.

Well, Pelousy is for sure. She signed off on TWO fraudulant election forms stating that THE 1 was constitutionaly eligible to hold the office of POTUS. His true status WILL be found out one day. He can’t hide it forever. We all may be dead by that time but it will come out.

No big. They just did a CENSUS. Together with bogus numbers and Hugo Chavez counting the votes, they can offer blanket amnesty, double the number of new citizens, and VOILA! Social Justice!!!

Panic Among the Dems, and The Politico.com Cash-on-Hand Tracker

You can waste a lot of time here.

Keep in mind that Dems need a lot more cash than Republicans, if only to airbrush the president and Nancy Pelosi out of all their candidates’ pictures and websites.

Dan Balz and Jon Cohen report on the deteriorating Dem prospects in this morning’s WaPo, as does Mike Allen in Politico.com, who uses the “t” word –”tsunami.”

All the incumbent Democrats have going there way is cash and a volunteer network.

Here are ten races where you can help close the cash divide for the GOP challenger.

And by clicking on the Winning in November banner above, you can join the virtual network of activists that will be making calls, sending emails and walking precincts in key districts between now and 11/2.

Yeah, but we still have to get out and vote and vote in overwhelming numbers, because the RATS will cheat and the “principled conservatives” will again, sit on their hands to send a message!

Since you and legions on this site say that Republicans are for big government then answer whey didn’t Republicans pass government Healtcare or Clinton’s socialist Healthcare? Also , Republicans controlles Congress for 12 years. So name hundreds of government agencies that Republicans created in those 12 years. The socialists/democrats created thousands of government agencies , hundreds in this healthcare bill the democrats passed.

If people would look at the actual voting records and percentages then they would see that Republicans in Congress voted at around 85% , for lower taxes, against Amnesty for illegals etc. and that the democrats/socialists voted the exact oppossite , around 85% for higher taxes, for Amnesty etc.

Also , if you take into account that politicians generally “want to do something” and doing something usually means more legislation , more government , and more taxes you can see that the Republican party is very good.

But no, many believe the liberal media spin that concentrates on the 15% of Republicans who are liberal and for bigger government.

Democrats/socialists created almost all of the thousands of government agencies.Anything that opposes these communists/socialists has to be supported.
