No Castle for Delaware
Human Events ^ | 09/07/2010 | Dan Riehl

Conservatives are fond of saying they are conservatives first and Republicans second. The current Republican primary for the U.S. Senate in Delaware presents a perfect opportunity to prove it.

I'd encourage conservatives to consider all the facts and the bigger picture, hopefully realizing that rejecting Rep. Michael Castle is critical to building a cohesive, Big Tent center-right majority within the Republican Party long-term.

There will be no Rubio, no Angle, Mike Lee, Toomey, nor Rand Paul in the Senate when the winner of the Delaware special election is sworn in promptly after the election on November 2. The seat is on the ballot again in 2014. Castle will be 76 by then. He's a better placeholder for some next Democrat, than the GOP holding the seat long-term.

>>>He’s an eastern Juan McCain. <<<

Castle doesn’t even come close - ACU (Conservative) score for McCain is 84% Castle is 52%

>>>Castle is a prototype RINO sell-out and traitor to the American people.<<<

You sure got that right!

To: Comparative Advantage

This is the year for outsiders to win and Castle will only make America less free by being a Democrat lite in Washington.

O’Donnell can win but the RINO’s and the MSM aren’t going to make it easy.

Very disappointed in Chris Christie. I thought he was above backing a RINO...

Same here, but consider he also supports Ground Zero Mosque too... very disappointing.

“If you plan to fail, you will not win!”

Wisely spoken. I’ve been out of the loop a bit due to hubby’s health concerns. It makes you take a good look at everything and refocus one’s priorities. I haven’t had as much time to keep in the loop on as much as I’d like, including the upcoming elections. Trying to play catch up as time allows.

Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.

“I’d crawl over glass to vote for Kirk.”

Yeah, I did that with McCain last year after I also had said I wouldn’t vote for him. That decision didn’t turn out too well. I don’t think I can knowingly vote for Kirk and all he stands for with good conscience.

If the Dem is as bad I think it is, your conscience would get a pass, but I understand where you are coming from.

The only reason I wouldn't hesitate to vote for him is the message him winning the seat would send to 0 and the Dems and the lefties in general.

I honestly don't think that if I lived in Delaware I could vote for Castle assuming he should win the primary. Taking Biden's seat just isn't the same.

>>I decided that I will NOT vote for Castle - Period!<<

A men to that. I will write in “None of the above” for every unopposed candidate and every RINO. I will no longer hold my nose when I vote.

BTW, Tea Party Express had a press conference/pep rally today. Wow, nice crowd and great people with TPE. We even had people from state GOP & castle campaign. Christine was there, too. She drew so much applause that she was blushing.

Let’s go, people. Get out the vote for Christine and change America.

As I was looking at the ACU (American Conservative Union) scorecard -

Kirk 57% Castle 52%

Bunch of losers if you ask me...
