Plouffe: Limbaugh, Beck and Palin are a problem for GOP
Politico ^ | September 05, 2010 | Meredith Shiner

President Barack Obama's political adviser, David Plouffe, on Sunday called Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin the leaders of the Republican Party — and also a "problem" for the GOP in this fall's elections and beyond.

Plouffe emphasized the "intolerance" and "extremism" of the tea party and of the right wing of the Republican Party as both a short-term and a long-term electoral problem for the moderate GOP, citing their attacks even on conservative senators such as Tom Coburn of Oklahoma as an example of how narrowly they have tailored their messaging and base.

"Right now — and this is a problem for them — I do think Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, they are the leaders of the party," Plouffe said on NBC's "Meet the Press." "There is an intolerance in that party and an extremism that I think is where the real energy is, and so I think you'll see in '11 and '12 with that presidential primary; those are going to be the people who come out to vote."

Tea-party-backed candidates — from Sharron Angle in Nevada to Rand Paul in Kentucky and, most recently, Joe Miller in Alaska — have enjoyed high levels of success in primary battles, but Plouffe and the Democrats are banking on the hope that these candidates will alienate independents and more moderate Republicans.

With Limbaugh, Beck and Palin emerging as the leaders of the GOP, and edging out more mainstream Republicans, Plouffe said Democrats could make gains in specific races across the country.

"That's going to be a problem" for them, Plouffe said.

I don’t think it’s conservatives that they’re talking to. It’s the “country club” variety Republican or RINO establishment.

Yeah, well, we always appreciate advice from the rabid fascist Left on how we should conduct ourselves.

Hey, better go change. There's a brown stain at the top of your party, which gave birth to the phrase "Plouffing your pants in fear."

And rightly so.

Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

David Plouffe, you are now starting at the possibility of the Democratic Party really cratering politically at the November 2, 2010 elections. Your arguments against Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh III and Sarah Palin are falling on deaf ears--too bad!

Limbaugh fear.
Beck fear.
Palin fear.

Tea Party candidates are winning primaries all over the country and are leading the RATS in many of the polls and this guy thinks the indies are being scared away? I think the indies are standing up and cheering.

I'm sure 'Plouffe' has our best interest at heart. /s

Considering that conservatives are going to mop the floor with his type, dems might be better served if 'Plouffe' spent more of his time worrying about his own party...

President Barack Obama's political adviser, David Plouffe, on Sunday called Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin the leaders of the Republican Party — and also a "problem" for the GOP in this fall's elections and beyond.

That's absurd. No one on the left even dreams of having an audience the size of Mr. Limbaugh's; that absurd experiment in leftist broadcasting, "Air America", failed so miserably that we will able to go a few generations again before we hear another attempt by the left at mass radio broadcasting.

Governor Palin will be the next president of the United States, and my own guess is that she will end up with a record even greater than President Reagan's.

Sounds like Obama and his buddies are real frightened of the avalanche coming their way this November, and then again in 2012.

What the heck does David Plouffe care about the state of the GOP, and their election chances?  And even if we were to lose the elections because of his ill-conceived idea that Glen Beck (laughing out loud), Rush, and Sarah are the leaders of the GOP and will alienate independents and moderates, shouldn't he be happy as this would probably be the best chance his man Barack will have to win re-election?

LOL! Nothing like coming back to FR after a long and relaxing weekend to enjoy a great laugh at the expense of the Rats.

If that were the case than Obama’s poll numbers would be soaring. Man... what an idiot!

Plouffe: Limbaugh, Beck and Palin are a problem for GOP

But Keith Olberman, Ed Schultz and Obama are not a problem for the Democrats?

You dismiss this at your peril.

David Plouffe is a liar. Beck, Limbaugh, and Palin are neither intolerant nor extreme; especially not intolerant. These anti-american communists, like Plouffe, are one trick ponies that scream RACIST, RACIST, RACIST at the top of their lungs hoping that the main stream media will echo their rants. It's mindless, infantile, gibberish, trash.

Rush's call screen is black, his minister is black, and his top guest host is black. He's a RACIST, RACIST, RACIST, they say.

Beck, Limbaugh, and Palin are attempting to save the AMERICAN principals enshrined in the Declaration of Independence, and if the country cannot be saved on the basis of those principles then it is not worth saving. I don't dismiss him, but I'm with those who pledge their lives, fortunes and Sacred Honor.
