Obama is in violation of his oath of office. His job is to protect the U.S. Constitution and to faithfully execute the law. A responsibility to fight negative stereotypes of Muslims is not part of the president's job description.

The Koran burning protest is none of the federal government's business. The best thing Obama could have done is educate the ummah about the First Amendment while saying he personally disagrees with the Koran burning and how the American system works to prevent religious bloodshed--even when religions offend one another. The same goes for Gen. Petraeus.

Yes I agree, Dear Leader.

I think burning the cult-cum-religion of "Pieces" holy book is offensive, not to mention, poluting

THEREFORE, I am considering volunteering to extinguish the fire caused by said book burning.

However as I have had no formal firefighting training, I will have to resort to other more common measures in putting out the fires.

While I can't exactly outline in detail how I intend to do that as it might also be considered offensive (not to mention, indecent) all I'll say is that my method will end up resembling that other great art form which was hailed as avant garde to be protected at all cost and even funded with our tax $$--"Piss Christ!"

Get the picture???

Lan Astaslem!

Mmm, mmm, mmm,

To be fair to the State Dept, burning Qurans puts Americans abroad (include US military) at increased risk of violence by mad muzzies. It is part of the duty of the President and State Dept to protect Americans elsewhere in the world.

build a mosque near where 3,000 died= support mosque. support 1st amendment
burn our flag, support amendment.
burn Bible, thrown down toilet etc -support 1st amendment
burn koran, -speak against the 1st amendment
support our immigration laws -sue them
black racists intimdating people and shouting racist language- lessen and drop charges.

it just goes on and on the list and yet the GOP are virtually silent.
The ignorant’s do not see the hypocrisy

This man should be impeached or at best hounded out of the white house due to him ignoring our laws, not protecting this country or her citizens

I suppose feeding a koran to a pig is frowned upon as well?

An infidel just can't have any fun any more.

Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

one church in FL decides to burn some books and it becomes a US govt policy statement

what Barry should be defending is the right to offend others without being killed for it

Never noticed any WH commentary about Mao on the Christmas tree or crucifixes in urine funded by taxpayer grants

THE WHITE HOUSE
Office of the Press Secretary

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 11, 2010

Statement by the President on the Occasion of Ramadan

On behalf of the American people, Michelle and I want to extend our best wishes to Muslims in America and around the world. Ramadan Kareem.

Ramadan is a time when Muslims around the world reflect upon the wisdom and guidance that comes with faith, and the responsibility that human beings have to one another, and to God. This is a time when families gather, friends host iftars, and meals are shared. But Ramadan is also a time of intense devotion and reflection – a time when Muslims fast during the day and pray during the night; when Muslims provide support to others to advance opportunity and prosperity for people everywhere. For all of us must remember that the world we want to build – and the changes that we want to make – must begin in our own hearts, and our own communities.

These rituals remind us of the principles that we hold in common, and Islam’s role in advancing justice, progress, tolerance, and the dignity of all human beings. Ramadan is a celebration of a faith known for great diversity and racial equality. And here in the United States, Ramadan is a reminder that Islam has always been part of America and that American Muslims have made extraordinary contributions to our country. And today, I want to extend my best wishes to the 1.5 billion Muslims around the world – and your families and friends – as you welcome the beginning of Ramadan.

I look forward to hosting an Iftar dinner celebrating Ramadan here at the White House later this week, and wish you a blessed month.

May God’s peace be upon you.

But, but, it really pisses him off!

Wonder why? :)

If they didn’t have anything to be outraged about, they would just make something up to be outraged about.

Just because someone has the right to do something, doesn’t mean it’s the right thing to do.

I think burning books held sacred by others is a horrible thing to do. There’s a very large number of folks here who would be rightfully upset over mass burnings of the Bible.

The Golden Rule does still have some legitimate applications, you know.

The United States government in no way condones such acts of disrespect against the religion of Islam...blah, blah, blah.

Fislam. I stand against all anti-truth, anti-freedom, anti-individual, anti-life collectives and the POS collectivists that rode in on them.

Great post/thread BUMP!

A ruler who doesn’t think they are limited by the constitution or by law is Considered to be Oppressive.

That is a fair definition of “The One” that doesn’t seem to recognize the people’s freedom of speech, or any other rights for that matter.

The United States government in no way condones such acts of disrespect against the religion of Islam, and is deeply concerned about deliberate attempts to offend members of religious or ethnic groups.

Yeah, he speaks out so often against the slanderous comments against Christians and their faith

What a liar

This burning of the Koran is turning out to be the biggest thing yet in terms of symbolism. It looks like it will literally slay the sense if invincibility among radical jihadist Muslims around the world — more than anything we have done in the War on Terror.

You can tell it’s effective because of the people who are squealing the most about it. People who never raised a whimper when the flag was burned and Bibles banned from classrooms and graduations and Christians fired from universities for being pro-life. Not a whimper.

It’s way past time to stop placating these idiot inbred muzzies. We should just tell them the truth that their “religion” is a total sham made up by a pedaphile who made shit up as he went along so he could screw as many people as he could. He was also a thief, a warmonger, rapist whose voice he heard was that of satan. If the truth hurts then so be it. I am so sick of these idiota I could SCREAM! There is no way that anyone will ever get me to believe “it’s a religion of peace”. I have nothing but contempt for each and everyone who is stupid enough to follow this hate filled murderous cult.

Maybe I'll get upset about the burning of a few korans by a tiny church in Florida when the same Islamic apologists get at least a wee bit upset about the wholesale banning of Bibles, the commonplace burning of churches, and the widespread persecution and murder of Christians in Muslim lands become a target of their self righteous smugness.

Not before. Maybe not after.
