This past Wednesday, Oct. 23rd, President Bush met with a North Korean defector named Shin Dong Hyuk at the GWB Presidential Center. They spent some time together where Mr. Hyuk spoke of his terrifying childhood living in a camp for political prisoners in North Korea. He also filmed an interview for the Center's Freedom Collection.

Human rights remains a passionate cause near and dear to GW's heart and this is why he still keeps in contact with many political defectors who escaped from oppressive regimes from the Middle East, North Korea, Cuba, Africa, etc.
