Boy, it’s hard to believe that tomorrow will be 9 years since our country got attacked on September 11th. It’s even sadder that for the 2nd straight year in a row, President Bush won’t be around to commemorate this anniversary.
But at least he isn’t forgetting Sept 11th nor has his support for the military faded at all. In fact, he and his father George H.W. Bush are lending their support to an organization called “Pedaling for Patriots” where a former CIA official and wife are about to go on cross-country bicycling trip to raise funds for the CIA Officers Memorial Foundation.
These are the most powerful words GWB wrote: “I vowed that I would never forget the wounds from that day. Our country was attacked with deliberate and massive cruelty because we are freedom’s home and defender. In our grief and anger, we found our mission and our moment. We used all elements of our national power to keep America safe at home by taking the fight to the enemy abroad and promoting liberty as an alternative to terror. Nine years after September 11, our safety from terrorism on our soil is a tribute to the dedicated men and women in our intelligence services and the military who work day and night to defend our great land.”
Wow, very moving... his words speak volumes.
