The month of September 2005 was a very busy month for President Bush after Katrina came on land at the Gulf coast and damaged the area. We see President Bush and First Lady Laura visiting New Orleans and other affected areas in Louisiana and Mississippi to comfort the victims of the hurricane and bring aid
The country lost Chief Justice William Renquist who passed away on September 3, 2005
President Bush nominated Judge Roberts to become the next Chief Supreme Court Justice. On September 29th Justice Roberts was sworn in as the 20th? Supreme Court Chief Justice.
President Bush remembered 9/11 heroes at a Medal of Valor ceremony. He also met with several foreign leaders and addressed the Useless Nations
For the quote of the month I have chosen President Bushs Remarks which he gave at the National Day of Prayer and Remembrance Service on September 16, 2005
Beautiful photos! They take delight in each others companionship.
Sweet memories of a different era.
Thanks for the ping! Love looking at him...
He looks GREAT...they BOTH do, PV - thanks so much for posting this!!!
Thanks Patty.. a breath of fresh (GOOD) air. With all the photos of Moochelle overpowering the cyber waves, it is great t see a feminine, tasteful woman with a strong wonderful man!
I love that picture of G.W. & Lady Laura. They seem to love each other so much.
My pleasure. The Bushes just exude class and gracefulness that is sorely missing in the current regime right now. They treated living in the White House with such respect and dignity and after they left, the O’s just basically trashed it. Pretty sad of what the Obamas have done. Cannot wait til they’re gone next year!
Amen!
It’s truly time to take our country back. This latest...adding their own daughters as “senior staffers” on a “jaunt” to Africa in order to use more of OUR tax dollars just rips it for me! Illegal, immoral just plain stupid!
I really hope obama will be done next year, but I personally know people that are die-hard democrats and still like him. I can't reason with them at all...
WOW, thanks for posting these recent pics. So awesome! I agree with everyone, I was here a LONG time ago under a different username and I remember coming here every evening to chat on the Day In The Life threads. Happy times.
You’re very welcome. Glad you’ve found this thread, it’s a great refuge from the crazy and insane world!
Our President just gave a great interview to share his appreciation for the troops and to promote the upcoming Warrior Open golf game.
“AP Interview: George W. Bush still supports troops”
The former commander-in-chief tells The Associated Press there’s one aspect of his presidency he still misses: interaction with U.S. troops. And Bush, who sent them to wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, says that despite his desire to remain largely out of the public eye, he wants to make sure veterans and military members know they still have his support.
“I was a little concerned that our veterans don’t think that I still respect them and care for them a lot,” Bush told the AP. He added later, “There’s nothing as courageous in my judgment as someone who had a leg blown off in combat overcoming the difficulties.”

Here’s two other nice articles on President Bush’s visit to Montgomery, Alabama on Thursday night where he spoke at a fundraiser for Faulkner University:
“Bush speaks to sold-out crowd”
“Bush seen as relaxed, personable during Faulkner University event”

THANK YOU!!!
A bit late in responding BUT thank you so much. I do enjoy this thread!
I finally got back here! It thrills my heart to see them and all the love and sincerity that they show. This was a very happy time when they were in the White House. Its truly a nightmare what is happening now.
I agree how much he loves this country and our Military! I have seen his tears flow many times with our Military!
I sure enjoyed seeing all these new pictures of this very loving couple. I love them both so much! I will be glad when they get the new Center opened. Maybe we’ll get to see them more and maybe the mess in the White House will have left the scene of the crimes! Thank you, Patty!
Thanks for posting the articles. I wonder if he and Laura are at the game tonight.
I am crushed about my Phillies, but there’s always next year. ;-(
oh how i miss this man!
You’re welcome. Don’t worry, we’re getting closer to November 2012 and hopefully it will be the end of the current regime’s reign in power. I look forward to the opening of the GWB center too.
