The month of September 2005 was a very busy month for President Bush after Katrina came on land at the Gulf coast and damaged the area. We see President Bush and First Lady Laura visiting New Orleans and other affected areas in Louisiana and Mississippi to comfort the victims of the hurricane and bring aid
The country lost Chief Justice William Renquist who passed away on September 3, 2005
President Bush nominated Judge Roberts to become the next Chief Supreme Court Justice. On September 29th Justice Roberts was sworn in as the 20th? Supreme Court Chief Justice.
President Bush remembered 9/11 heroes at a Medal of Valor ceremony. He also met with several foreign leaders and addressed the Useless Nations
For the quote of the month I have chosen President Bushs Remarks which he gave at the National Day of Prayer and Remembrance Service on September 16, 2005
Bushes to attend Flight 93 memorial dedication
Tuesday, September 06, 2011
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
Former President George W. Bush and Laura Bush will join Vice President Joe Biden at the dedication ceremony Saturday of the Flight 93 National Memorial in Stonycreek, near Shanksville.
Gordon Felt, president of the Families of Flight 93, released a statement saying: "We are deeply honored that President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush will join Vice President Joseph Biden to remember and honor the heroes of Flight 93 and to dedicate the first phase of the Flight 93 National Memorial. The memorial is an enduring tribute to our loved ones, who gave their lives in freedom's name. President Bush signed the legislation to transform the site into a national park. Mrs. Bush has a wonderful history with the memorial and the Flight 93 families. Their presence gives particular comfort and meaning to us all."
What a poignant day it will especially be for him and for us all. I’m confused, as some reports also had him going to the WTC Memorial in NYC.

The “other guy” is going to all 3 sites, and I wonder if Pres. Bush will as well, or if he dropped out of the NYC event.
No one had more on his shoulders, minf and heart that day than he .. and it continued to the end of his term with our grateful freedom from further attacks, thanks to his unrelenting resolve.
God bless and protect him always.
I read that he was going to NYC also. That is on Sunday I thought, and the Shanksville memorial is on Saturday.
I’m just not sure. I thought all 3 sites were holding
events on the same day.
You’re correct. I was confused.. ;). Reported today. Article re new 9/11 security threats
@@@
President Barack Obama and former President George W. Bush are set to attend the official 9/11 ceremony at ground zero on Sunday, and security was already expected to be tight downtown
The National Park Service and National Park Foundation announced Tuesday that Bush, who was in office when the plane crashed on Sept. 11, 2001, will join Vice President Joe Biden and Flight 93 family members. Also attending Saturdays event will be dignitaries including former first lady Laura Bush,...

I read an article about the creation of the project and read this very funny quote of GWB:
Giuliani told some of the unknown stories about the days after 9/11, many of which were far funnier than expected. When George W. Bush first visited the city on Sept. 14, Mayor Giuliani, then-Governor George Pataki and the heads of the city's emergency services rode with the President on the solemn drive away from Ground Zero. President Bush broke the ice by asking Fire Commissioner Tom Von Essen how he was doing. I'm doing better now, Von Essen answered. My wife finally came home last night and I got lucky. President Bush replied, Well, you're probably the only guy that did.
I just watched some of the videos from that site this morning, very tastefully done. Love the one with GWB of course. The Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and Rudy Guilani interviews are pretty good too. Thanks for posting!

President Bush is also doing a 2-minute intro for the 9/11 anniversary to be aired during the NFL game on Fox on Sunday:
Fox’s NFL Sunday to Commemorate 9/11 with George W. Bush

Bush filmed a two-minute piece this week from Texas, which also includes members of the FDNY, NYPD and NY/NJ Port Authority Police Department. The intro is slated to air at 12 p.m. ET as a lead-in to Foxs pregame coverage. In it, Bush talks about heroism, perseverance and recovery.
Thank you, patty. Done for the archives and history,
and Pres. Bush and his administration will be well reflected for their love of country, valor and diligence. God bless him for his relentless resolve in keeping us safe, his #1 presidential duty. He did not waver, he did not falter, he did not fail.
Imagine the pettiness of the putrid ideologues at Time who just had to flaunt their partisanship and dared to insert the name of Valerie Plame as being worthy of even a mention in this coverage. Sheeeesh. Their handiwork and idiotic promotion of their rat idols never quits. Sheeeesh ... shameful.
Good idea, Patty!!

You’re welcome. This is only a small sampling of what is available on that link :) I found it a couple of days ago and finally got around to posting it!
Images from that time are hard to take, but also necessary so we don’t EVER forget what happened!
Unfortunatly I did not grab it as he and our former First Lady came around the corner
