Has John McCain "sold his soul" to win re-election?
It's a question that briefly flustered the self-ascribed maverick and 2008 presidential nominee when asked Sunday morning by Chris Wallace of Fox News - but it's also an accusation McCain, who defended having changed his position on several issues, is not alone in having to answer.
(snip)
McCain, along with South Carolina Republican Lindsey Graham, called Sunday for a new "Contract with America," Newt Gingrich's political blueprint that helped give Congress back to the GOP in 1994.
But both senators - who once made their marks in Congress by seeking middle ground on hot-button policy issues like immigration and energy - seem to have shifted further to the right to make their case. McCain, who's seeking a fifth term in November, recently beat back a primary challenge from the right from former Rep. J.D. Hayworth.

McLame has as much chance of leading the TPers as Hell has of freezing over.
Everywhere McLame goes, Graham is going also except he is on his knees walking backwards and facing McLame (kinda).
haw haw, snicker snigger SNORT!
Ohhh, what I said!
They just gave him a chance to hang himself and by all accounts I have seen, he did.
Do you mean prophet?
Either way I think Beck'll beat the pants off McCain.
McCain is opportunistic and an attention seeker. Half of what he does is simply to keep himself in the news, thus his chosen role as backstabber and underminer of his own party over many years. He has no consistent beliefs and any effort to analyze his beliefs is a waste of time.
Any such list of liberal traitors must include that awful Hoosier, Mr. Lugar. And they do have hard-core beliefs, liberal ones.
HELL NO!
HELL NO!
HELL NO!
HELL NO!
HELL NO!
HELL NO!
HELL NO!
Im gonna bend over and let the Bokeback mountain boys give me a big kiss on my arse!
Both were wearing their ‘conservative’ apparel. Nothing but blustering talk. Solutions won't come from either of them.
They'll get shocked by the likes of Joe Miller and Rand Paul.
Joe Miller has leadership written all over him.
Im gonna bend over and let the Brokeback mountain boys give me a big kiss on my arse!
“McCain embraces the GOP’s right (McCain, Graham want to lead Tea Party)”
Is this from The Onion?
This is why it is my opinion that things will not change until blood is shed.
"When the people fear the government..." vs "when the government fears the people..."
Between McLame and Grahmnesty, I can’t decide which one is the more contemptible.
They can both go to HELL for all I care.
I have had more than my fill of both of them.
He is a loser with no new ideas; no wish to take and maintain a stand; a singular inability to tell the truth; no outstanding qualties of any kind (unless one believes that "flip-flopping is a desired quality)...and this failure wants to "lead" the Tea Partiers????????
It is far far past the time for this old man to go away. Would that the voters of AZ felt the same..
More's the pity.
Since Graham will be in office for at least four more years, and McCain is nearly certain to be re-elected, it is better that they speak and vote on our side rather than against it. In addition, if they take our side, it will be harder to label our positions as ‘extremist’ (not that I mind the MSM, but some squishy voters do).
bah dum bum! Hilarious! These two are such a great Vaudeville act!
They don’t call him McInsane for nothing. If he even dared try this he would learn what fear and loathing really are.
This has to be satire.
We don't need no stinking "leaders". Not McCain, not Beck.
I think Lindsey is the more contemptible, but only because he’s the smarter one, and should therefore know better.
I wish it was.
