President Obama is unlikely to face a Democratic foe in 2012 primary

WASHINGTON - The Democratic left still smarts over President Obama's failure to deliver on some of its key issues, but has made no serious move to challenge him in 2012.

Even the loudest critics among them think putting up a primary candidate would just split the party and strengthen the Republican who runs against him or her.

"There is beginning to be some chatter about running a candidate from the left, but nobody wants to think that way," said Peter Daou, a liberal blogger and ex-digital media adviser to Hillary Clinton's campaign.

The left's grievance list is long. They believe Obama is infatuated with centrist, independent voters at the expense of the liberal agenda. Many want U.S. forces out of Afghanistan.

Still, there's no groundswell for a Howard Dean-like Democrat to rise up and challenge Obama.

"I certainly wouldn't advocate that. I'd rather the White House right this ship," Daou said.

UCLA pollster Lynn Vavreck doubts the left will rebel because ultimately liberals "want to win elections," while dissident GOP Tea Party activists "care more about making a point."

Liberals still fume over what they consider a lame attempt by Obama to win approval of a government health care plan known as the public option.

The only reason he won is because he's black and taking that entire block away from Hillary....and tweeking certain areas...like Philadelphia.

I hope to live to see our government get back on track....where morality again means something, where ALL people believe in a work ethic, where we're allowed to again express our faith outside of the confines of a church or my home.

And I hope to see the day when being a Muslim is no longer regarded as a recognized religion but as what it truly is and always has been....a political movement.

I’m really liking the image of a Gay Mosque. I think we should promote it. It ought to keep a bunch of folk with dubious intentions occupied for a while.

The sad reality is that if such a structure was built and then blown up on Day 2 by (who else) Mooselimbs, the Chrissy-Matthews-Media would scream, "See? See? It's the fault of Bush / Limbaugh / Beck / _____ spreading hate talk & war!"

This talk about our Dear Leader having to produce a birth certificate for his 2012 run is quite interesting. A couple questions:

1) Can a President, having already been elected once, be compelled to show a BC for his re-election bid?

2) Considering for the moment that the answer to quesion #1 is yes, what would happen if Obummer refused?

How about Emperor of the Universe, Emeritus. Fancy title, little work or contribution expected-just make speeches. Kinda’ like his entire shallow life as an empty suit.

The left's grievance list is long.

That is true enough.

Some people find their own happiness and have no expectation that others must make it happen for them. We call those people conservatives.

Lefties on the other hand a all adult-children, who have a never ending list of demands and excuses.

If Democrats lose the bulk of the black vote they may as well not even run a candidate in 2012.

Need not be the bulk. If they lose 25% of the black vote they are finished as a major American political party.

No need. He already got their endorsement.

This is more communist disinformation. The socialist in our White House was ranked as the most liberal U. S. Senator during his very brief tenure, and he has run by far the most aggressively socialist administration in our history. The left is only pouting because he's not even worse for our country, but he has pushed us as far to the left and as quickly as he could get away with, leaving a crippling debt in an attempt to guarantee long term failure even after real Americans vote him out in two years.

“A gay mosque with bacon omelettes and men showing the bottoms of their feet and women walking in front of men naked and in charge.”

Hmmmm. Well, except for that “gay” part, would you please explain to me just one more time why this is a “bad” thing? :)

Agreed. The DOJ will sue on this, but will most likely loose on the 10th Amendment clause. The States are still sovereign unless BO can break them and dissolve the Union.

Hillary may not run a primary challenge against Obama.

She could run third party or as a republican. “I didn’t leave the democrat party, it left me.”

If Obama’s numbers keep dropping, any democrat running in 2012 will be saddled with his record. Her best shot at a 2012 run would be to ditch the dims. Then her political decision is whether her best shot is third party or trying to shift her positions enough to run as a republican - which wouldn’t take much considering McCain got the nomination last go ‘round.

My foot! The Child-in-Cheat wouldn't dare run, precisely because of this earned title.

I’ll bet you $100 that Hillary Clinton will challenge Premier Hussein for the nomination, and I’ll bet you another $100 she beats him like a red-headed step child.

I think many Dhimmies already know what an unmitigated disaster this guy has been for the Party and they fully realize that there may not be a Democrat Party left if things don’t change in one big hurry.

Besides, Hillary is twice the man Hussein is.

Hillary would be too strong as a third party and could possibly even win.

Baraq (Soros?) needs a third party just strong enough to split the opposition and deliver him a Clintonian plurality win.

That’s an interesting scenario. Of course being married to the FIRST black POTUS, Hillary would have no problem fending off the race card, would she?

At least one state, maybe more and I can't remember which, has passed a law that all presidential contenders must show a valid birth certificates to be on that states ballot. That's all it takes, just one where Obama can't be on the ballot.

Maybe this is another reasons behind the Dems' push to eliminate the electoral college. If the BC requirement is from a "small" state with few EC votes, it won't matter.

Seeing as Obama is unlikely to run in 2012, yes, he will not have a primary challenger.
