Plouffe: Limbaugh, Beck and Palin are a problem for GOP

President Barack Obama's political adviser, David Plouffe, on Sunday called Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin the leaders of the Republican party — and also a "problem" for the GOP in this fall's elections and beyond.

Plouffe emphasized the "intolerance" and "extremism" of the tea party and right wing of Republican party as both a short-term and long-term electoral problem for the moderate GOP, citing their attacks even on conservative senators such as Tom Coburn of Oklahoma as an example of how narrowly they have tailored their messaging and base.

"Right now — and this is a problem for them — I do think Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, they are the leaders of the party," Plouffe said on "NBC's "Meet the Press." "There is an intolerance in that party and an extremism, that I think is where the real energy is, and so I think you'll see in '11 and '12 with that presidential primary, those are going to be the people who come out to vote."

Tea party-backed candidates — from Sharron Angle in Nevada, Rand Paul in Kentucky and, most recently, Joe Miller in Alaska — have enjoyed high levels of succes in primary battles, but Plouffe and the Democrats are banking on the hope that these candidates will alienate Independents and more moderate Republicans.

With Limbaugh, Beck and Palin emerging as the leaders of the GOP, and edging out more mainstream Republicans, Plouffe said Democrats could make gains in specific races across the country.

"That's going to be a problem [for them]," Plouffe said.

Big problem for the RINOS and Dims

Like McCain?

All ¨conservatives¨ are RINOs until they conclusively demonstrate otherwise.

All the major Sunday shows, excepting FNS, have willfully self immolated. The episode of This Week when they let Jonathan Karl take the chair, and Karl let Plouffe and Rove go at it, was possibly the best Sunday show (including FNS, at least post Tony Snow) I ever saw. The whole thing absolutely sizzled, including the panel segment.

Yet ABC stuck with the somnolent Jake Tapper (who, though better than the average lib shill anchor, sleepwalked through his episodes) as interim host, and settled on the surly Christiane Amanpour as a permanent anchor.

It's like they want to fail.

Listening to Plouffe on what is good for Republicans is like listening to Goebbels on what Britain should do against Germany in WWII. - Exactly he's just passing on talking points to his people within the GOP.

Its a problem for RINOS, and establishment Republicans. Democrats don’t seem to understand that Republicans are not about cow towing to the establishment one party faking as 2 parties machine, we want people in who will make a difference.

What’s more pathetic, the GOP acting liberal-lite or the FReepers who would vote for Karl Marx if he ran as a Republican?

The problem with parties is that they institutionalize ignorance and encourage people to abandon common sense as well as every last principle.

“Why aren’t there any articles about the problems in the Commurat party by their extreme left?”

Because then you would be talking about Obama, and that would be racist!

"There is an intolerance in that party and an extremism..."

Intolerant of socialists, communists, thieves, grifters and grafters.

Extremely devoted to the rule of law, the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights, and the actual definition of words.

It’s an interesting dynamic. They are in the party, but they are not of the party.

The GOP "insiders" are like "Landru" in that old episode of Star Trek. Dead, but still trying to maintain power and their ideology through the programming of their followers.

Plouffe is pointing at the TEA Party crowd and hollering: "They are NOT of The Body!"

The voters are charging up their Phasers.

Same crap they tried last year, trying to demonize Rush as the "head of the GOP."

Besides, everyone knows he is "The man who runs America".

I’m thinking about Coons, the Democrat , if Castle prevails over O’Donnell . There is some thought that electing Castle promotes the dynastic ambitions of the Biden family. Putting a young Democrat in that seat blocks the old RINO Castle from retiring on cue to leave the Democrat Governor Markell to name the successor, guess who? Beau Biden.
