Plouffe: Limbaugh, Beck and Palin are a problem for GOP

President Barack Obama's political adviser, David Plouffe, on Sunday called Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin the leaders of the Republican party — and also a "problem" for the GOP in this fall's elections and beyond.

Plouffe emphasized the "intolerance" and "extremism" of the tea party and right wing of Republican party as both a short-term and long-term electoral problem for the moderate GOP, citing their attacks even on conservative senators such as Tom Coburn of Oklahoma as an example of how narrowly they have tailored their messaging and base.

"Right now — and this is a problem for them — I do think Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, they are the leaders of the party," Plouffe said on "NBC's "Meet the Press." "There is an intolerance in that party and an extremism, that I think is where the real energy is, and so I think you'll see in '11 and '12 with that presidential primary, those are going to be the people who come out to vote."

Tea party-backed candidates — from Sharron Angle in Nevada, Rand Paul in Kentucky and, most recently, Joe Miller in Alaska — have enjoyed high levels of succes in primary battles, but Plouffe and the Democrats are banking on the hope that these candidates will alienate Independents and more moderate Republicans.

With Limbaugh, Beck and Palin emerging as the leaders of the GOP, and edging out more mainstream Republicans, Plouffe said Democrats could make gains in specific races across the country.

"That's going to be a problem [for them]," Plouffe said.

Intolerance thy name is Democrat! They cannot even tolerate decent, law abiding, hard working, family folks! Oh no, they are extremists!

Projection, transference. That is their playbook, and America has become more and more wise to it.

Sounds like great advice from someone whose name was probably copied from a gay porn star.

How will the GOP do in actually governing?

Hopefully the status quo GOP will have little to do with it, and the TEA party Republicans will be doing the "governing"

Democrats wish they had a Rush, Beck and a Tea Party.

This is a common left wing tactic of branding the weapon that hurts them the most as dangerous to the user.

Recruiting tool for Al Qaeda!

Intolerance in the face of a slow Marxist coup, extremism in the defense of the Constitution — be very afraid.

But...but...if they’re a problem, then what’s the problem? Shouldn’t Plouffle be happy then?

Wow! It's taken the Plouffter nearly half a year to get over the Sunday morning drubbing he got from Karl Rove.

Even so, David Gregory only got him to crawl out of his hole by assuring him there would be no real Republicans around. (Just Lindsey "Goober" Graham.)

"What a Plouffter."

Exactly! To repeat another post--"LOL!".

These people NEVER have a new idea. They keep dragging out the same old chestnuts to throw in the fire; but these chestnuts have already been burned to a crisp--Palin, Limbaugh, racism, class envy, Repubs as obstructionist, Repubs will kill granny and take her SS.

Also like another post--I DO worry about Repubs governing when they regain power. Far too many of them, like mcCain, Graham, Snow, etc. just haven't awakened to the threat of WHO these Dem leaders really are. They are globalist, Marxist elites who tell us peons what to do and not to do, but NONE of it applies to them.

If they succeed, with the ignorant quiescence of Repubs, how do they think they can continue to live the royal life they have carved out for themselves?

Why aren’t there any articles about the problems in the Commurat party by their extreme left?

Because they are all on the extreme left.

MWWT THE PRESS has fallen so much since Russert died.

It has now become that very loathsome of all things: the propaganda tool for the far left communists.

Does the GOP know they're not the Democrat Party?

Actually, no.

Translation: "We're scared to death of the beating we are going to take in November. The silver lining is that the GOP is run by spineless idiots like Boehner. We think we can handle those dorks. But what we really don't want is Limbaugh, Beck and Palin reminding voters of how venal and corrupt we are."

First you demonize your most effective opponents, those that have the most influence over public opinion (regardless of their occupation).

Then you make them the head of the opposition party by decree.

And finally you spin up hatred against them to drive up enought frothing enthusiam to get the “hate vote”.

“hate vote” must credit Eddie01

What’s more pathetic, the GOP acting liberal-lite or the FReepers who would vote for Karl Marx if he ran as a Republican?
