Tuesday evening, Christine Judd was still the Athletic Director and Dean of Students at Cathedral High School in Springfield, Mass. Then suddenly, after a single meeting on Wednesday morning, she was not.
According to MassLive.com, Judd met with officials of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Springfield Wednesday after the diocese -- which runs Cathedral and other Catholic schools in the Springfield area -- learned that Judd, an open lesbian, married her longtime partner in August.
Judd isn't a newcomer to Cathedral. The Springfield resident served as AD for three years and dean of students for six years. She'd been at Cathedral 12 years in all before she "resigned," on Wednesday. And though she may have technically resigned, her decision didn't seem to be so open ended when you hear Judd describe the options that the diocese presented her with.
"I was given a choice of termination or resignation," Judd said. "I'm hurt, but I wish nothing but the best for Cathedral, its students, the parents, the athletic teams, administration and faculty. I bleed purple (the school's color)." ...
"I married my partner this summer," Judd said. "I was hoping that my loyalty, my professionalism the last 12 years would supersede the current hypocrisy that has already been shown with the Diocese of Springfield."

Yes, I am asking you for your proof. This story is about a lesbo who resigned after she “married” her girlfriend.
You say the school knew she was a lesbian. I am asking you for YOUR proof of YOUR statement.
It is not my church. And if you don't want to be asked questions or have your statements challenged, then DO NOT POST ON THE INTERNET!
So what if there were "legal quibble"? As shown in my post, Mark Dupont stated that all employees were familiar with the rules and regulations of the school, and it was grounds for termination if they violated them (like most if not all businesses do).
I certainly have nothing against a religious organization enforcing its rules of conduct on its employees.
What about non-religious organizations? (Forget current legislation). As a private businessman who pays the mortgage, taxes, etc. etc. etc. on MY OWN BUSINESS, do I not have the right to say who I want to hire? Or is "choice" only valid when it comes to murdering the unborn?
You totally should. I never bought this BS about having 2+ job candidates who are "equally qualified" for a given job. You should not be forced to hire someone who is not qualified for a given job based solely on factors that have nothing to do with job performance.
As an aside though, I think the rules your rightfully criticize are only enforced on businesses where the owner or owners are mostly straight whitey ostensibly-Christian males. I don't think I've seen many, or even any, such complaints lodged against other businesses.
You can even extend the "job performance" rule to religious organizations. Most churches have employment rules for clergy that extend deep into the outside-of-church lives of these people. I see nothing wrong with such rules being imposed on any given employee if that's how the religious organization wants to do things.
I have considered the possibility that she may have had an agenda besides merely wanting to "marry" her partner and quietly walk off into the sunset, etc.
This morning on the local television news station (WWLP 22) the diocesan spokesman Mark Dupont said that Ms. Judd had indeed signed a paper stating Church policy that Cathedral High School employees be required to order their public lives in such a way as to not go contrary to Church teachings as a condition of employment.
Of course, I don't doubt that Ms. Judd was emboldened to put the diocese to the test by the 2004 imposition of same sex marriage on the state of Massachusetts by a radical liberal unelected clique of black-robed party hacks pretending to be "judges" while legislating from the bench.
But apparently, Ms. Judd wasn't paying attention about four years ago when the Church here in Massachusetts shut down its adoption facilities/orphanages rather than become a party to "gay adoptions."

Again, Diocesan spokesman Mark Dupont emphasized repeatedly on the WWLP 22 News report that Ms. Judd had signed a document spelling out Church policy.
The same report stated that some of the students from Cathedral High School were protesting Ms. Judd's resignation in front of St. Michael's Cathedral. In fact the protest was in progress while Mark Dupont was speaking.
Here is a link to that television news story.

At the end of the day, the very fact of this protest speaks volumes in terms of the existence of an actual situation in which young impressionable Catholic school girls attending a Catholic school have somehow been manipulated into thinking that same sex marriage is perfectly OK in spite of the fact that the Catholic church forbids all homosexual activity.....or any other sexual activity outside of marriage.
If I were a parent paying the tuition for my child to attend Cathedral High School right now, you can bet your boots I would be hollering.
In any case, Bishop McDonnell is to be commended for standing firm in defense of church teachings!
I, for one, support him 100%, and keep him in my prayers.
‘She was in a long-term romantic relationship with another woman; this couldn’t have been secret.’
What makes you think that, this sort of thing has been kept secret for 2000 years?
You are asking the wrong party for proof. I didn’t hire her. Ask what sort of investigation the Catholic Church does before it turns children over to homosexual after homosexual, often leading to abuse. It seems like they don’t even care from outside of the Catholic church . . . and I know an open homosexual in a child care position would stick out like a sore thumb in most churches . . . so what is wrong with the Catholic Church? I think it is that they sweep it under the rug and accept it because a huge number of their priests and nuns are homosexuals.
And in that you can see the end game. The ultimate goal of all this is to be able to prohibit the Church from teaching about these sorts of things. With such laws, the Church can be infiltrated, and her teaching undermined, and ultimately prohibited.
You ask some very good questions, and I think these are the sorts of questions about the nature of the relationship between individuals and the state that Rand Paul was asking, before he was attacked for daring to raise such questions.
No I am not. I am asking for proof they knew she was lesbo (your post #55).
Yes, I think her mannish, shaved head appearance, Catholic school gym coach thing might have been a hint.
You actually think you are right don’t you? Do you believe that you need PROOF that someone is a bad worker in order NOT to hire them? You can choose not to hire a mannish freak into a child care position without PROOF.
You should be more humble given your limits.
"Do you believe that you need PROOF that someone is a bad worker in order NOT to hire them? "
What the hell are you talking about? I asked for your proof that the school knew she was a lesbo. You have YET to provide any.
"You should be more humble given your limits."
And you should really follow your own advice.
“Do you believe that you need PROOF that someone is a bad worker in order NOT to hire them? “
Yes, I do.

Wow.
Legitimate questions indeed that Rand Paul asked regarding civil rights legislation. I only hope that Rand can steer clear of his dad's Libertarian Party ties and the idiotic social policies that go along with it.
You are truly an idiot. Adios.
Do you think it’s a government rule that you have to hire someone, like a law? Or is it a moral law? Do you have a Bible verse or aphorism that expresses the requirement? What’s your support that you need proof that someone is a bad worker in order not to hire them?
Calling names doesn’t do anything but raise your blood pressure and make you look like you don’t understand the basics of what you are attempting to discuss.
At first blush, one would think theres a lesbian Catholic school.

Yes, it does appear to suggest there is a Catholic School for lesbians or a school named Lesbian Catholic School.
Are these ‘headline’ writers trying to be cute or just plain stupid, or most likely, a combination of both?
well, it IS a yahoo sports story !!! We shouldn’t attribute either too much intelligence or too much cleverness to them.
I remember years and years ago when Tony Lema had just won some major golf tourney, then was killed in a plane crash after leaving the site of that tourney. The sportscaster speaking of his great play, the excitement of winning, then the crash, wrapped up his story saying, “and that was the end of the day for Tony Lema.” huh????
She was also in the 40 Year Old Virgin and she is a Lesbian.
