Today, on the road to Damascus [seriously] I saw a sign that said “DO NOT READ THIS SIGN”.

Even though I am perpetually perplexed by it, I WANT one of my own.

:)

Last time I checked there wasn’t an asterisk on the 2nd amendment that it only applied to specific locations.

I’m not saying who, but I know LOTS of North Carolinians who are committing Class 1 Misdemeanors by continuing to concealed carry, and going dove hunting Saturday. Let’s just say I know one of them REAL well...

I believe the states that accept the federal money are stuck keeping the funding going with the state budgets aren’t they? That only puts a higher burden on the taxpayers of each state that participates right?

As far as that happening in Texas, “that dog won’t hunt” down here. First of all, it wouldn’t be obeyed and secondly, outside of a few large (inner) cities no politician would be stupid enough to try to impose it.

Yeah but the Texas GOP is filled with loads of stinking open-border RINOs.

The little girl reminds me of Diane Feinstein holding an AK with her finger on the trigger.

That looks like a real AR carbine and he finger is too close to the trigger. The parents need to teach those kids gun safety. Not funny.

“Yeah but the Texas GOP is filled with loads of stinking open-border RINOs.”

That's true but they're still not bad on gun control and even quite a few Dim Legislator oppose gun control.

I agree, I’ve always thought of people from NC as being a lot smarter and more patriotic.

They likely are smarter and more patriotic.

My wife and I have been looking for a solidly conservative place to move to when she retires and have ruled out N.C. because of the "half backs." N.C.'s problem is the northeast lib-tards who move to Fla, don't like it and move half-way back north (hence "half backs") and settle in states like N.C. Once settled, they start crapping in the new nest and turn it into the kind of high-tax, nanny-state cesspool they moved away from.

I’m not sure what sort of strings were tied to the money to the states, but the people who actually needed the money were hurt while the fat cats got fatter.

Under the Robert T Stafford Act (disater reponse etc) the following applies to anyone operating under federal funds during a state of emergency:

USC 44 § 5207. Firearms policies (amended in 2007)

(a) Prohibition on confiscation of firearms
No officer or employee of the United States (including any member of the uniformed services), or person operating pursuant to or under color of Federal law, or receiving Federal funds, or under control of any Federal official, or providing services to such an officer, employee, or other person, while acting in support of relief from a major disaster or emergency, may—
(1) temporarily or permanently seize, or authorize seizure of, any firearm the possession of which is not prohibited under Federal, State, or local law, other than for forfeiture in compliance with Federal law or as evidence in a criminal investigation;
(2) require registration of any firearm for which registration is not required by Federal, State, or local law;
(3) prohibit possession of any firearm, or promulgate any rule, regulation, or order prohibiting possession of any firearm, in any place or by any person where such possession is not otherwise prohibited by Federal, State, or local law; or
(4) prohibit the carrying of firearms by any person otherwise authorized to carry firearms under Federal, State, or local law, solely because such person is operating under the direction, control, or supervision of a Federal agency in support of relief from the major disaster or emergency.
(b) Limitation
Nothing in this section shall be construed to prohibit any person in subsection (a) from requiring the temporary surrender of a firearm as a condition for entry into any mode of transportation used for rescue or evacuation during a major disaster or emergency, provided that such temporarily surrendered firearm is returned at the completion of such rescue or evacuation.
_______________

Sopunds to me if NC asks/has asked for federal funds at any time in this event, they fall under this code-anyone who is affected may have standing to sue in federal court.

Go TarHeels (well heeled I hope!).

This declaration is rather ridiculous-any declaration of emergency usually is focused on an affected area-the US Gov will not simply agree to a state wide disater if there is no disiater event that impact the entire area. Usually it is declared county by county.

Where is the NC AG? Is he a libtard as well? What about the NC NRA afflicaited shooting sports association? What, no fortitude to start the ball rolling-NRA-ILA would likely step up to assist. All NC citizens would seem to have standing....
