WASHINGTON, Sept. 1 (UPI) -- Pakistan's military said Wednesday it recalled an official delegation to Washington over the rude treatment its members received from airport security agents.
The eight-member party led by a brigadier general was on its way to a meeting at U.S. Central Command headquarters in Florida when were taken off their plane at Washington's Dulles International Airport and subjected to what a Pakistani spokesman called "unwarranted security checks."
"The delegation was cleared and U.S defense officials regretted the incident," said Pakistani Maj. Gen. Athar Abbas. "However, as a result of these checks, military authorities in Pakistan decided to cancel the visit and call the delegation back."
The New York Times said Pakistani media reported Wednesday that the delegation was detained for two hours, and the delay apparently stemmed from a fellow passenger who reportedly overheard some of the officers making suspicious remarks during the flight.
Official diplomatic delegations are given diplomatic passports and diplomatic visas. They have separate lines to go through in customs. There is ZERO PERCENT chance that the State Department did not know all of their travel arrangements, from the Embassy in Pah-kee-stahn to Foggy Bottom.
Regardless about what I think about those smarmy bastards, official delegations should be treated with appropriate respect. A failure to do so will impact our delegations long after this idiot is run out of town on a rail.
So, in other words, the only reasonable conclusion is that the Obama administration and the Clinton State Department wanted them to be jacked up.
Perzactly!
It makes you wonder though what information those Paki’s might be delivering to our CENCOM, that got Billery and Ayatollah Che Obama’s panties in a wad.
Is this an overall plan to setup security at airports throughout the world to expose racial profiling?
Why did they fly into DC to get to FL?
O will drop to his knees. No biggee.
And blame Bush!
Fixed it.
I wonder if this was the same incident that was reported recently as 9 foreigners, later labeled as Pakistani. Seems odd if it isn’t.
TSA agents probably couldn’t recognize foreign officials...
TSA treats us like crap, why should they be any different?
My son-in-law was at CENTCOM at Tampa's MacDill AFB for several years before retiring and going to work for a defense contractor. His position required frequent trips to the war zones from Tampa. Practically every one of them went through DC, some through New Jersey. He comes and goes every couple of months, sometimes more frequently, always through that area up there.
What would be the motive? I thought Zero wanted to make nice with the Mooselimbs.
Perhaps you overestimate the competence of the TSA?

This comment allegedly took place between Adlai Stevenson and Dwight Eisenhower. Eisenhower said, Im always nice to cabbies. I tip well and when I get out I ask them to vote Republican. Stevenson said, Im always nasty; dont tip and when I get out I tell them the same.
In other words, if youre Obama and you want to screw all future American presidents with Pakistan, you instruct TSA to act just like this. What would future Presidents do; apologize? Nobody can do it with the obsequious anti-Americanism that Obama throws
Not the TSA. Maybe the State Department and the DOD.
From past experience, military "delegations" are tracked very closely by the Defense Attaché Office in the local Embassy and they are met by escorts once they hit the ground in the US (especially true since Dulles is right there). They are escorted from the gate through customs with only the most cursory of passport checks.
That's what I have seen (back when I was on active duty) and experienced on the other end...the couple of times I have been on a "delegation."
