President Barack Obama called former President George W. Bush Tuesday hours before he was set to deliver an Oval Office speech on the drawdown of U.S. troops from Iraq, the White House said.
Obama made the call aboard Air Force One on his way to Ft. Bliss, Tex., where he will visit U.S. troops.
White House Deputy Press Secretary Bill Burton said the “private” call lasted “a few minutes,” but declined to give further detail.
Obama telephoned Bush in February 2009 before announcing his plans for withdrawing troops from Iraq.

I continue to try to understand BDS, how it started and thrived and continues to thrive on the left and the right ...
I think it became the zeitgeist after the media worked in conjunction with the Democrats to turn Iraq into Viet Nam and Bush into Dan Quayle/ R Nixon .
The political result of this cultural phenomenon is Obama’s Presidency . People are just now coming out of the hate-bush fog to realize what a sham was sold to them.
I had a fight with my brother years ago in which it became clear to me that all the ideas being thrown around about GW Bush from “he is stupid” to “he lied about WMD” were only a short distance from the extreme “ Bush was somehow involved in 9-11 to make himself look good.”
The folks on this board who caught BDS are no different from all the rest of the nut cases...they bought a bunch of lies as it was easier to do that than face the truth
BDS is the result of lies, and it was hatred of Bush, not respect for him, nor anything he did in office, that is the cause of the Obama presidency.
Blaming Bush for Obama is not only not true, it is the polar opposite of the truth.
I think what we're dealing with, not only on the far left, but right here on FR, are people who swallowed the lies, who believed the myth.
The idea that Bush is stupid, that he is 'mindless,' or a 'nitwit' or a 'stammering fool' are ALL evidence that the person has been brainwashed by the LEFT. That was the algor/leftist game plan from the year 2000, and some people calling themselves conservative clearly fell for it.
I truly wonder if any of them are 9/11 truthers. They are irrational, so as you said, it's only a 'short distance' from where they are to where Danny Glover or Charlie Sheen are.
We need a book on the causes and implications of BDS in America
There are many of us who have observed it here on FR, and 'out there' where the lefties dwell (and it acts the same way on both ends of the spectrum).
Maybe we could come up with some collective observations and figure this beast out and someone who writes well, could make it into a book.
Whatever its causes, it's destructive wherever it rears its ugly head.

Get rid of the BDS (you have it in spades) and focus on what we need to do to get rid of the Marxist. DO something for the conservative cause. Hating one of the most honorable Presidents we have ever had (political differences notwithstanding), doesn't do a blasted thing to advance the cause of conservatives, and if that's all you do, then you're hurting and not helping the cause.

Will do anything and everything to get conservatives elected in November. So far, it looks promising.
But I really think Obama will try to pull some kind of October Surprise - perhaps an attack on Iran or an executive order granting citizenship - and voter registration to millions of illegals.

The EO is more likely than the attack on Iran, IMO. He won't want to kill too many of the people he supports most.
