I think it became the zeitgeist after the media worked in conjunction with the Democrats to turn Iraq into Viet Nam and Bush into Dan Quayle/ R Nixon .
The political result of this cultural phenomenon is Obama’s Presidency . People are just now coming out of the hate-bush fog to realize what a sham was sold to them.
I had a fight with my brother years ago in which it became clear to me that all the ideas being thrown around about GW Bush from “he is stupid” to “he lied about WMD” were only a short distance from the extreme “ Bush was somehow involved in 9-11 to make himself look good.”
The folks on this board who caught BDS are no different from all the rest of the nut cases...they bought a bunch of lies as it was easier to do that than face the truth
BDS is the result of lies, and it was hatred of Bush, not respect for him, nor anything he did in office, that is the cause of the Obama presidency.
Blaming Bush for Obama is not only not true, it is the polar opposite of the truth.
I think what we're dealing with, not only on the far left, but right here on FR, are people who swallowed the lies, who believed the myth.
The idea that Bush is stupid, that he is 'mindless,' or a 'nitwit' or a 'stammering fool' are ALL evidence that the person has been brainwashed by the LEFT. That was the algor/leftist game plan from the year 2000, and some people calling themselves conservative clearly fell for it.
I truly wonder if any of them are 9/11 truthers. They are irrational, so as you said, it's only a 'short distance' from where they are to where Danny Glover or Charlie Sheen are.
