President Barack Obama called former President George W. Bush Tuesday hours before he was set to deliver an Oval Office speech on the drawdown of U.S. troops from Iraq, the White House said.
Obama made the call aboard Air Force One on his way to Ft. Bliss, Tex., where he will visit U.S. troops.
White House Deputy Press Secretary Bill Burton said the private call lasted a few minutes, but declined to give further detail.
Obama telephoned Bush in February 2009 before announcing his plans for withdrawing troops from Iraq.

Thank you for reminding us of the achievements of President Bush. I for one will be eternally grateful for his unwavering dedication to protecting our Country and his dedication and love of our Troops.
I wish when Obama called for W he would have got an answering machine that simply said “Sorry we aren't hear to answer you call. We are at Dallas/Ft. Worth Airport welcoming our brave troops home!

Did they ever learn what Obama was calling the President about? Was it just the return of his rug? Karl Rove said on Greta tonight he deliberately didn't call the President and ask. Said he wanted to claim ignorance.

Yes, how many times have we seen a former President stay involved with our troops? Great man, wonderful Commander-in-Chief.
I've watched that DFW video at least 10 times! *sniff*

As we were going back and forth here, I was just thinking it was about time for her to return. I remember when you sent her off last year. Time flies ... unless you are a mom anxiously awaiting your child’s return.

I would assume it was a potus to potus
conversation, seeing how this was the
day the ‘combat’ transfer to the Iraqis
happened, and it happened under Pres. Bush
(and succeeded by the force of Pres.
Bush’s resolve.)
And .. so he could announce to the world
that he did it... ;)

Bush II was a failure as a conservative Presdient.
He was as close to a RINO as one could come without being one.
The obtuseness of Bushbots on this subject is simply amazing.

“And it is my opinion that the caricature of Reagan now paraded around by the angry Bush despising right is an INSULT to the warmth and reality of the man, himself. It degrades him to take away his humanity, because gods who can do no wrong cannot be given credit for being right.”
By your won statements you are condemned. You correctly view Bush’s main critics in the GOP Party as CONSERVATIVES.
Do back to RINO-Land and take the entire Bush clan and John McCain with you.
THEY gave us Obama.

I hate to burst your bubble...I am not a bushbot, however; I do respect a man that kept this country safe for over 7 years, a man that did exactly what he believed was the right thing to do for his country, no matter how unpopular it made him, a man that loved every single soldier that served under his command, etc., etc.
...and I do not respect a cowardly, contemptible person that sits behind a computer screen and calls that decent man vile, insulting names and deems himself smart just because he does so...
I could have called you a dunderhead or an A-Hole, both are fitting & accurate and in hindsight I probably should not given preference to one over the other! I stand corrected!

Did they ever learn what Obama was calling the President about? He was merely looking for some clarification. Wanted to know if Boosh was spelled with two o's or three.

I don’t think think he can stand the scrutiny or produce documents to run again. I also think he has a good idea that the mountain of evidence against his lies is building and will all come out at the right time, prior to the 2012 elections to make sure he is never elected again. Hopefully, he will be in prison, for a long time.

A Military Times poll conducted early this year found that 31 percent of subscribers to the publication approved of his job as commander in chief...Good grief! I wonder who those 31% are? I sure don't know any of 'em.

This is a historical day for Iraq and for the Americans who have been a part of this. That includes President George W. Bush.
Can't you just give the vituperative stuff a rest for a bit?
