The arrests of two men in Amsterdam for questioning in a terrorism investigation comes at a time U.S. law enforcement officials have been on a heightened state of alert to a possible hijacking of U.S. carrier flights from the Middle East, according to one senior U.S. official.
As a result, air marshals were onboard a Chicago-Amsterdam flight yesterday and kept a close watch on two suspicious passengers who had triggered security alarms, but were allowed to travel for "investigative purposes," law enforcement sources told ABC News.

I guess it depends on the meaning of “terror”.
Remember, for much of the MSM there is no such thing as terrorists (unless of course your Glen Beck, Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh etc)
Sounds like a probe looking for a weakness or lax in security.
Possibly “dry run” for a future attack.
And they won’t let me on with my fingernail clippers and shampoo.
Could have been a decoy to get the spotlight off of another passenger.
I always tape my phone to Pepto-Bismol bottles. Doesn’t everyone?
We don't know, of course, how many other dry runs went undetected.
Pepto will blow the crap out of ya.
“but were allowed to travel for “investigative purposes,”
I am not believing this BS for a minute! Not only can you not trust this government to keep these jackasses off our planes, but you also cannot believe one word they say after they screw up!! It is preposterous that they would allow passengers, who have been identified as possible terror risks, to board a plane and fly with hundreds of other passengers! I don’t care how many air marshalls they have on board. What genius thought this was a good idea? I want his name!!
US official said that they are not suspected of any terrorism.
Might be because Obama will no longer allow water boarding or other harsh interrogation methods. Anti terrorism may now be limited to following the guys around and seeing who they talk to.
Only if I'm hearing upsetting news.
I would hope that the TSA was shrewd enough to determine that the “bombs” were fake (in their checked luggage, I think, so they could make that determination) and just watch them to see what they would do and who they would call.
I don’t know. I can see it making some sense, under the circumstances. They were able to make sure there was no threat in the luggage anymore. Sometimes it pays to sit and watch the target for a while to see who else they might try to contact, or what tactics they are working on, before they move in.
Actually, I think it did. It appears that the fake bombs were in the checked luggage and TSA spotted them. Professionals were called in and determined that the bombs were inert and the Muzzies were allowed to board so they could be observed.
...or next week either.
I presume this means they're simply not (yet) connected to any ~prior~ terrorist events.
Don't be using 'shrewd' and 'TSA' in the same sentence ... unless it's a joke. And obviously you were kidding and just forgot to type J/K .
They’ve tried calling the Ft. Hood shooing an act of workplace violence and have denied it was a terrorist act.

“The FBI probe of two men arrested in Amsterdam after suspicious items turned up in one of the men’s luggage is finding they were probably not on a test run for a future terror attack, a U.S. official said Tuesday, casting doubt on earlier suggestions even as Dutch authorities held the pair on suspicion of conspiring to commit a terrorist act.”
