It’s more complicated than that. Crouch actually did write some important jazz criticism. This rant, though, is shocking and disappointing.
And multi national/cultural. A large, large number of the originators of jazz had a French or Spanish Caribbean background. And p.s. Although they weren’t white, they didn’t consider themselves to be black.
Liberalism is a mental disease.
Could be. I would venture to say he probably still thinks he nailed it. That’s the mindset of the Leftists. Truth is not as important as the good timely effective slur.
Hey, I wouldn’t be surprised.
“..but they suck at real confrontation.”
Exactly. Which is why they will use police. A matter of “law and order” nothing more.
When people like Stanley Crouch give a damn about my family, my heritage and my way of life I might give a damn about his but otherwise he can kiss my ass.
Yeah, but half a million attended the march to make that statement.
Where’s the “projectile vomit with chunks” alert?
And what effect do you imagine police agencies would have against a real rebellion?
A real rebellion?
None. But lefties do things they way the do because of the softness of the incremental movement toward a police state.
All Hitler needed was a solid core of true believers (which in terms of the population was very small)and enough bureaucrats and then jack boot thugs in police depts to pretty much take the whole damn country. The point being that there is not an over abundance in any population of the kind of balls required to really rebel.
America had it two centuries ago. Whether we have it still remains to be seen.
I was there at the Rally on the Mall.
The only racist in the room here is the author Stanley Crouch.
Poor SOB is stuffed with hatred, dysfunction and neurosis and it shows.
