I don't understand her epistemological / entomological conversion the progressivism / statism. It usually happens in the other direction.
This happened after her husband hopped the fence if my memory is correct. With that said, was she a phony all along (remember when she was one of the darlings of the conservative movements) or is their something really broken with her heart, soul, and spirit with the collapse of her marriage? Or were they broke all along?
Perhaps in time all the answers to my questions will come to light...

Back then, the story was that she married him for his money. I doubt she minded much that he “switched sides.”

Perhaps in time all the answers to my questions will come to light... She's a self-absorbed opportunist. She's not stupid, just lacking principles of any kind beyond succeeding at what she wants: money and fame and a bit of power.
We'll probably see her convert back to her version of "conservatism" if and when the political winds change for the long term IMO.
