Wow, heady stuff from the NY Times. An area that voted one way 40 years ago now leans another way.
All this babble when it could be summed up: Mexico takes over Orange County, turns it into screaming Mexican Commie craphole.
See? One sentence, all you need to know.
Foreign invaders tend to do this to an area. And when the invaders are socialists and Marxists, it only makes the problem worse.
And for some reason decide to vote Democrat even though they tend to be pro-business and are on the short end of the quotas and set-asides that Democrats like so well.
Could it be that they were not made to feel welcome in the Republican Party of Orange County? And if so, why?
Having lived in OC for the better part of my life I do not believe a word of this. Orange Co will be 5 for 5 after November elections in house seats after Sanchez is defeated.
OC is still very conservative.
I’ve lived in Orange County for 52 years. This has very little to nothing to do with Mexicans and a lot to do with mentally lazy gullible white people who swallow whole what the MSM tells them.
Demographic changes - unchecked illegal and legal immigration from 3rd World cesspools that suck the life out of social services and schools.
Santa Ana will never be Newport Beach, but Santa Ana has 5 kids per household and Newport Beach has 2, max.
It’s just a matter of time.
Longtime OC resident here too. City of Orange.
Little Adam N is one of the gay radical leftists at the slimes.
And dissipated white people, while it may be true, doesn't explain the Sanchez sisters.
I read the whole article. Typical rehash of old stereotypes, half truths, and distortions. Plus, if 43% of voters are Republican, 20% are independent, then what percentage does that leave who are Democrats?
I doubt that this is the explanation. AFAIK, Asians tend to vote more RAT than GOP throughout the country, although their loyalty to RATS is nothing like that of other key constituencies.
Considering 2008 was a year like 1994 in reverse, I don't think Orange County is dead yet. That's quite remarkable considering its neighbor to the north.
Cool. You can bring me lunch tomorrow. Thanks! :)
The ones I know....recognize the Kenyan for what he's worth and DO vote...accordingly.
People that work in the private sector are leaving Kalifornia by the droves. OC is no exception. All that are left are those that suck off the public system.
The Republicans can thank themselves and the Bush administration for that....Of course it was the Bush administration that gave America Obama...
