President Barack Obama dismissed a recent poll showing that a third of Americans don’t know he’s a Christian – and blamed an online campaign of misinformation by his conservative enemies for perpetuating the myth that he’s a Muslim.
“I can’t spend all of my time with my birth certificate plastered on my forehead,” Obama told NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams, sitting under a tent in a rain-soaked New Orleans, where he commemorated the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.
“The facts are the facts. We went through some of this during the campaign — there is a mechanism, a network of misinformation that in a new media era can get churned out there constantly,” said a visibly annoyed Obama, referring to “birthers,” who have waged a guerilla campaign questioning the validity of his Hawaiian birth certificate.
“I will always put my money on the American people, and I’m not going to be worried too much about what rumors are floating around there.”
A stunning 18 percent of Americans identify Obama as Muslim, according to a Pew poll released earlier this month. Only a third identified Obama, who speaks passionately about his faith in his autobiography, as Christian.

Don’t know about religion-based hospitals, but I’ve seen several American birth certificates back 100 years or more, having done some family history research, and none of them had fields for religion. I know that Hawaii had no such fields on their long form in 1961. I’d be curious to hear if anyone has seen a birth certificate from any state that had religion data on it.

So, did he finally show his real long form birth certificate or say that he is a Christian and accepts Jesus Christ as his only savior?
It’s all tied together. When the BC issue is the focus in the media for whatever the reason, he drops more base support - well, at least the self proclaimed independents.
He has played the left, the independents, the youth, the blacks and the moderates of this country for fools.

Having been a practicing Christian for more than 40 years now, and a practicing Catholic for 26 of those years, I have visited perhaps 100 various Christian bookstores, both Protestant and Catholic. In all of those places, one thing tied together the books for sale: Christianity. Not so in Obama's church bookstore. I spent more than an hour perusing available books, and found as many claiming to represent Muslim thought as those representing Christian thought. Black Muslim thought, to be specific.
And the books claiming to support Christianity were surprisingly of a more political than religious nature. The books by James H. Cone, Wright's own mentor, were prominent and numerous.
Exactly and what does his birth certificate have to do with people questioning his religion. He may have inadvertently made a revelation.

"Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer, reciting them with a first-rate accent. In a remark that seemed delightfully uncalculated, ... Mr. Obama described the call to prayer as “one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.”
I too thought he was reciting the call to morning prayers. But, it seems to others more knowledgeable than me, that this call is also an oath to Islam and that if you say it, or wish to convert, this is what you say and THIS IS WHAT he did say: ============================
The first few lines from the "call to prayer" is the shahada. The shahada is not from the koran. It is from the hadiths. Furthermore, it is the SWEARING OF AN OATH to islam. Non-Muslims wishing to convert to Islam do so by a public recitation of the creed.
It is also an oath EVEN if you are tricked or forced into reciting it and even if you wish to renounce it, you can NOT do so without fear for your life.
It goes like this: "Ash-hadu -an-la-ilaha illal-laha, wa ash-hadu anna Mohammad-an Abdo-hu wa Rasulo-uhu wa ash-hadu anna moulana ali-un –vasi-un wa vazir-ah.”
It literally means: "I bear witness that there is no God but Allah, and I bear witness that Mohammad is Allah's servant and His Messenger, and Ali is his successor ’vasi’ and minister ‘vazir’".
And it ALSO means that obama knew exactly what he was saying, knew exactly what it meant, and had no qualms about calling it the most beautiful sound on earth. As with most things, it was a message to his brethren and a finger in the eye of what obama considers stupid Americans.
