Hang in there JD... perhaps another time will be more favorable to you. If McLame stays true right you have accomplished much and if he turns left then shame on his Arizona voters.
In ‘10 and beyond, if enough of Congress becomes truly conservative, then John McCain will have to choose between, either, “going along” with conservatives on all of the issues, or going at it alone and looking foolish while doing so. Truly decreasing the total numbers of leftists from both major political parties is key to the long-term and, hopefully, healthy future of conservatism.
You need to change your last “if” to when. And my guess is one day after the general election.
My expectation is McCain goes back to old ways and maybe retires after this term. Once he decides to retire he is bullet proof and can do whatever he wants.
