In ‘10 and beyond, if enough of Congress becomes truly conservative, then John McCain will have to choose between, either, “going along” with conservatives on all of the issues, or going at it alone and looking foolish while doing so. Truly decreasing the total numbers of leftists from both major political parties is key to the long-term and, hopefully, healthy future of conservatism.

My expectation is McCain goes back to old ways and maybe retires after this term. Once he decides to retire he is bullet proof and can do whatever he wants.
