PHOENIXAn ebullient John McCain celebrated his resounding GOP Senate primary win with Gov. Jan Brewer, Sen. Jon Kyl and the states Republican congressional delegation at a unity fundraiser Friday night.
Conspicuously absent: former Rep. J.D. Hayworth, whom McCain soundly defeated Tuesday following a bitter and acrimonious campaign.
Organizers said he received an invitation to the event, just as others losing candidates did, but Hayworth claims the opposite.
I never received an invitation nothing ever crossed my desk, the former six-term congressman told POLITICO Saturday.

We need a candidate with the intellect of Jindal, and the political views of DeMint. That guy has got to be out there somewhere.
I like her that she was more conservative than Tom Campbell, and matches up better with Boxer than the other two. And has the money to compete. But no, she's not a conservative I would hang a picture and light candles around.
You do know that she campaigned with McCain, don't you?
Yeah, a measly rally back in the Spring. Did she go door-to-door for him? McCain asked her to come back in the summer and she said no. The radio ads were already paid to run through the course of the election so she didn't "keep cutting radio ads for him."
Oh, but maybe that's just another little "loyalty" thing. Tell me, when is she supposed to show loyalty to the conservatives?
You are really obtuse, you know that? All the conservatives she endorsed, taking the lead on Obamacare and cap and trade, fighting Obama and the Dems, yet she's a RINO for endorsing the guy she fricking ran with. I guess guys like Joe Miller are RINOs too? BTW she even criticized RINO Scott Brown too but you completely ignore that and focus on McLame.
You're calling Sarah Palin a pig...even more pointedly than Barack Obama did during the campaign.
How pathetic. Know that I'm not allowed to post my opinion of you.
Ahhhh, I understand now why you are such a big Sarah fan. Things really have to be spelled out for you. C.A.R.L.Y. C.A.M.P.A.I.G.N.E.D. F.O.R. M.C.C.A.I.N.
Look, you apparently think anything Sarah does is acceptable. That's fine, it's your business and it's my business that I don't.
Oh, and you KNOW Sarah did more than a measly rally back in the spring. She did robo calls, she did ads, and she did fund raisers. Those ads, BTW, ran month after month, after month, with Sarah telling the people of Arizona how conservative John is and how character matters. And I'll bet you think it's just a coincidence that Greta had him on several times in the weeks leading up to the vote to tell everyone how much he's in favor of sealing that border so everyone who wasn't paying attention actually thought McCain is tough on immigration. Are you and Sarah going to act surprised when McCain goes running back to his comprehensive immigration reform (or regularization or whatever the new word is these days) right after the election?
McGavin, I call it the way I see it; I don’t care how many FRiends you have.
The fact is, you, like pissant, blame everybody else for your candidate’s loss, except the candidate himself.
For the record, I donated twice to JD’s campaign and I live in NJ, far, far, from AZ.
I don’t regret those donations and if I had it to do all over again I would repeat them, even maybe add to them. JD’s a good guy and I am VERY disappointed at his loss.
But to say that Palin tripped him up in 2010 and that Bush tripped him up in 2006... that’s delusional. That’s delusional on a pissant scale. (Sorry, pissant, just the way I see it.)
I don’t care how many FRiends you have.
No, I don't blame everybody. I blame Sarah, and I said so last March when she appeared for McCain.
You guys can't have it both ways. You can't claim that Sarah backing conservatives all over the country is why these candidates are winning and then claim that only in Arizona Sarah's endorsement didn't matter. Be consistant.
And no, Sarah isn't the only problem, the $21 million ($20 left over from the presidential campaign) had something to do with it as well. BTW, I'm not pissed that JD lost, I'm pissed that McCain won. Another 6 years of reaching across the aisle, cap and trade, conprehensive immigration reform, gang of 14, campaign finance reform, and any other anti-American legislation anyone in Washington can think up.
” JD lost in 2006 because McCain and Bush made sure he lost because of his strong position on illegal immigration. “
Bush “ cut off” funding for Hayworth, and McCain’s operatives were here working for the Democrat.
Also, Hayworth was gerrymandered out of 80% of his district. I asm so sick of Palinistas lying about 06 I could puke.
Me too SJB. But a lot of these people have no sense of right and wrong, they’re just interested in winning.
” Me too SJB. But a lot of these people have no sense of right and wrong, theyre just interested in winning. “
And Palin is STILL pimping for McCain.
You are, of course, looking at your own idiotic poor judgement in picking candidates, correct?
You have no grounds to lecture anyone as a RINO with the extraordinarily foolish votes you have cast and horrid candidates you have supported.
I’m disappointed that McCain won too. Very disappointed. As disappointed as you.
But I have not become deranged from my own disappointed. You, sadly, appear that way. At least for now. I have faith you’ll snap out of it.
This group could whine all day about anything, including how the Obamacrats are ruining our country one day at a time.........but no, they choose to whine 24/7 about Sarah Palin.
What a bunch of losers.
No, I'm not derranged, I'm wide awake. I see what Palin is and I see that she doesn't seem notice that McCain had $20 million left over in his presidential campaign chest. I gave her the benefit of the doubt until Glen's rally yesterday and when she tried to bring McCain into that venue I knew she was still behind him. I also thought it odd that Greta could only find McCain to speak about the border problem in Arizona, because God knows we only have one senator (although, oddly, McCain tried to duct tape himself to Kyl's leg)
I gave her the benefit of the doubt until Glen's rally yesterday and when she tried to bring McCain into that venue I knew she was still behind him.I don't know if you noticed or not but McCain has already won the primary. Maybe she's trying to corral him (and his future Senate votes). I know you will deride this possibility but I believe it is a real one.
"RINOS! RINOS! RINOS!
LIPSTICK ON PIGS!
RINOS! RINOS! RINOS!
” This group could whine all day about anything, including how the Obamacrats are ruining our country one day at a time.........but no, they choose to whine 24/7 about Sarah Palin.
What a bunch of losers”
Why do you whine all day, every day about other FReepers?
” LAKESNARK “
L O L
No, she’s trying to rehabilitate him. Also, he hasn’t won the general, but Sarah hasn’t figured out yet that McCain doesn’t need republicans to win the general.
By all means, keep this thread going. Keep bashing Freepers and touting your guy McCain. The more who see this the better.
McCain is not, nor ever was, “my guy”. So feck off.
