VINEYARD HAVEN, Mass. — President Barack Obama is aiming to underscore his commitment to a region weary of calamity as he travels to New Orleans on the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.
Obama ends his Martha's Vineyard vacation Sunday and heads to the Gulf, five years to the day from when Katrina roared ashore in Louisiana. Eighty percent of New Orleans was flooded when the storm tore through protective levees.

I hate to give google.com the hit, so I’ll ask first, did the article mention how the N.O. levy system was poorly built and prone to fail in the first place, due to corruption and ineffective use of taxpayer/gubmint money?

I’ve often wondered the same thing. It sounds so simple and trite, but it probably was a death sentence. At the very least, a lifetime of severe disfigurement and eternal pain.

The Great Liar, a Democrat, just as former school marm Kathleen Blanco, and Chocolate City Ray Nagin, makes the same kind of empty promises, as the local legislators, who chartered the buses, for those around New Orleans to be able to vote FOR THEM!
This is my fifth anniversary of seeing the worst of what the State of Louisiana’s and the City of New Orleans governments could be.
This is the fifth anniversary of waiting for those who were in uniform, and enjoyed subjugating and disarming American citizens, with glee, to be brought forward for their crimes.
The man who commanded the National Guard, and called all the citizens of the Greater New Orleans Metropolitan Area, (i.e., “Little Somalia”), “insurgents”, Gary L. Jones, has yet to be brought forward for his unconstitutional acts.
And Obama added to the problems with his incompetence of the BP oil spill. Thanks, Barack Obama-not!

Obama should just declare “Bash Bush Days”, and that way he would not have to indulge in wandering about to make excuses to bash Bush.
Those New Orleans people are the biggest crybabies in the world! They still deserve sympathy 5 years later because they were stranded at a convention center?
Democratic politics appropriated million of dollars for levees that were never built. Obama is going down there for inspiration.
