Its a cultural thing (or lack of culture on the LIBs part). LIBs always wait for someone else to do the work and for someone else to pay those who do the work. Slackers. Losers. Creeps.

I believe libs' twisted environmentalism is due to their own alienation from nature. It also stems from their spiritual helplessness. Extreme liberalism is rebellion against death, which is really rebellion against life as it is.

Why do they become vegetarians? Not because they think it's healthier--it's to avoid the anxiety that comes from eating meat--acceptance of death. Why are they absurdly anti-war? Same reason.

They flock to urban centers where people are supreme, and where nature has been subdued or eliminated. Seems odd for environmentalists, but it isn't. The city is the greatest example of man's attempt to recreate the world, recreate the environment, and to CONTROL the world and the environment. It's a perfect place for people who can't accept life as it is.

Meanwhile, those who live out "in the country" are far less squeamish about the realities of life, because even in merely ex-urban areas, one can observe nature in action, and it's hard to miss the implications.

I watch the nervous chipmunk sneaking around. I like chipmunks. My wife loves 'em. They are cute. But in this world, they are also prey, and must fear for their lives at all times. I observe the violent horror show that is the average fishing hole. A little frog hops across some lily pads. If he falls into the water in the wrong spot, or just lands on the wrong pad, he'll find himself in a bass's belly before he has time to react. Perch eat smaller perch. Pickeral eat damn near anything. Frogs eat other frogs. It's a beautiful pond, a wonderful "ecosystem", but it's also a nasty, monstrous place.

Nature is violent. It's beautiful, too. The country person is more in tune with the true nature of this world. The libs want the beauty without the teeth that come with it. So they live in concrete cities, where "parks" represent nature. They rebel against nature. They cry for "peace", as if that is something this world has ever offered. They simply can't accept life as it is. I think the word is neurotic.

sorry for the long rant. have a nice sunday morning.

Yeah, but then they’d wake up to the realization that they’d basically be out of a job.
The “Government” largely pays people to pick up the trash these very same people always leave behind wherever they go.They COUNT on slob behavior from untold millions of people whose friends and relatives are then employed because of them.
It’s what’s called a vicious cycle.
Or in Big Government World, a “happy cycle”.
Like I said in an earlier reply on this very thread,
this is “privatization at its best”.
This kind of evidence of mature responsibility is the LAST thing Big Government wants
to have happen; the more widespread it becomes the more it
looks like a political act, which is where I’d like to see it start heading.

I live in the Phoenix area. The North side is very nice and clean, but I hear it gets bad on the South/SouthWest side of town.

If you've been in the Tucons to Tombstone area, it must break your heart. The area where the illegals cross is strewn with trash, even across the highway. We were headed toward Benson the first time when we saw it and we were stunned.

Trash strewn about all over the place, as if they crossed the border carrying a weeks worth of garbage and dumped it there.

It was not just an insult, it was an environmental disaster.

And Obama is suing us because we want to stop this! Unreal...

Huck, beautifully put. Best rant I’ve read in a long time. I think you nailed it and I think you could develop your thoughts and publish. Really piss the libs off by exposing them completely.

I hike by myself quite often (for the record, I carry). I don’t know how many times people have told me it’s dangerous (duh!).

We went to Alaska and when I asked about local hiking trails, I’d get the info and the admonition to make sure I carry. The bigger caliber the better.

Very refreshing. Danger is such an inherent part of life in Alaska, no one even bothered to mention it. That’s the kind of life we live here. Wild animals, crazy people, rugged terrain, falling trees, rock slides, deep snows in the winter, ect. Keeps us on our toes. ;-)

Anybody care to try their hand at creating a viral email?

It's eeeeasy. Just cut and paste everything below, give it a subject line of "Now and Then..." and forward to all your friends and relations.

August 28, 2010: The National Mall after Glenn Beck’s Restoring Honor Rally.

January 20, 2009: The National Mall after Barack Obama’s Inauguration.

Almost spotless, I left my prescription glasses under a tree by the reflecting pond.

That one is going to cost me a pretty penny.

As opposed to all the American flags that were trashed after Obama’s . . . what was the event, the Convention or another of his self aggrandizing comedy acts?

Kind of ironic but it was exactly two years to the day that they tossed those flags.

Ya see Obama picked Dr King's Dream speech anniversary to accept the nomination.
