What are your dimensions for MI Stadium compared to the "lawn"? Are you sure the cut-out of MI Stadium is to the exact size in area to where you dropped it on the mall?
Is the relative distance from Keech to Snyder the same as 22nd to 21st?

Somebody did an actual anaysis, not guess, of last September’s Tea Party rally at the Capitol:

Somebody should do another one for this rally.
By the way, there were large crowds at today’s rally seeking shade (it was about 90 degrees) under the trees north and south of the reflecting pool, almost as dense as the crowds visible in the pictures

Back in the day (WAY back in the day) I was a Mall crowd counter for various nefarious organizations and movements (Nixon and Mitchell better start shakin'/Today's pig is tomorrow's bacon -that sort of thing).
Anyway, the conventional Memorial to Monument full house estimate is 300 000. That's pretty close to what we saw today.

At least 30x larger than the size of Sharpton’s “rally”.

The stadium photo is misleading. It only proves you can put two-and-a-half stadiums inside The Mall.

I know that my family, and several thousand others, were still standing in line at a single MetroRail station (Vienna station, Orange line) at 10:30 or so when they finally gave up trying to have everyone buy tickets.
The MetroRail system was so overwhelmed, they simply let everyone on for free. We didn't all get into DC until well after 11:30.
That was one station from one line of the MetroRail.
The crowd was huge.

I was there and eyeballed the crowd to be at least 500k. The crowd was wall to wall and there were people packed under the trees toward Constitution and a lot (and I mean a lot) of people behind the WWII Memorial back to the Washington Monument.
