People keep asking for photos of known crowds for comparison sake and help in estimating the size of the crowd for Glen Beck's rally today. Here goes - using Michigan Stadium, Ann Arbor Michigan for a nice even crowd size.
What does it look like to you?
“Washington Post gave a conservative estimate of ‘between 2,000 and 3,000’.”
The people in DC are not good at math, accounting or decimals. I think they do not use the Base10 system. They must have developed an entire symbol representation language around the entire concept of ID-10-t.
I’m sure the local hotels and restaurants appreciated the surge in clientele in late August.
Does anyone believe anything coming from inside the beltway? I think the water has been poisoned and it causes people to lose the ability to think logically and destroys their common sense.
Talk about doing news on a shoestring budget. LOL
I was there. People were packed in among the trees. It had to be over 500k.
The MetroRail system was so overwhelmed, they simply let everyone on for free. We didn't all get into DC until well after 11:30.
That was one station from one line of the MetroRail.
The crowd was huge.
Wrong, Beck followers were strapping on a frame which over twenty blow up dolls were strapped to it. Thus from the top of the Wash Monument, at long distances, every Beck attendee will look like 21 human beings.
the number cbs posted could be part of an attempt at a bad joke - 88 is associated with nazism, and 87 is used frequently as a joke to imply that.
as far as the sharpton ralley, i watched bits and pieces of it on cspan’s replay. I didn’t really listen, as the speakers advocation of being repressed, and needing more economic and social help made my blood boil - some of it was short of outright demands for reparations. From what was shown, I would estimate the crowd to be no more than 400-500, and that would be counting the speakers and performers, also. That’s right, only a few hundreds. I have some screen captures as the camera pans the crowd (except for greater than 90 degrees from infront of the camera - meaning anything behind the camera) and there was no where close to the 3 thousand people as reported by someone in the washington post. if there were people in the stadium, they were not shown on the pans that I saw, so I have no real idea how many may have been up in them.
I think 500,000 +.
BUT WE ARE NATURALLY CONSERVATIVE !
People were leaving as I arrived walking across the Memorial Bridge with my pup.
So how many showed up to march with Sharptongue?
ABC, NBC and CBS all reported 4,573,126 and that thousands more were stuck many blocks away not able to gain entry to the area. And they gave up trying to count the number of airplanes not able to land because of the huge crowds spilling over on the runway.
LOL!!
that’s the same number being used be AP for the Beck rally. one of our large radio stations here in Phx (KTAR) is using that number on their facebook news. “tens of thousands” for Beck. and they expect to try to topple KFYI with crap like that?
I see a man behind the fence on the grassy knoll.
You guys are killing me! LOL!!
Plus, since this rally was held at the West end of the Mall you really need to find out how many were UNDER THE TREES.

I wondered the same thing. Being that it was sunny and hot,my guess is that it was packed under the trees for shade.
We'd need to interview people who were there ~ under the trees.
What a great day!
The old Cleveland Municiple Stadium used to hold just over 80K. I was there for the sold-out last game played at that stadium. From the aerial shots I’ve seen there are at least twice that number! Does the MSM realize what a joke they’ve become? Seriously! A total parody of themselves.
