Depending on density, a crowded National Mall can hold between 1.5 million and 3 million people.

From the looks of it on C-SPAN, it is NOT a real great turnout, despite excellent weather.

Schools start on Monday.
I’m sure this kept many folks from traveling here.

"From the looks of it on C-SPAN, it is NOT a real great turnout, despite excellent weather." Huh? The place is covered with people from the Lincoln Memorial to past the Washington Monument.

About 1,000 times the amount an Al Sharpton rally will draw.
Beck said that media estimates placed the crowd from anywhere between 200,000 to 500,000.

LOL - The CSPAN telecast I’m watching shows a crowd I’d estimate at a minimum of 500k.

It looks like the National Mall is packed with people.
I tried watching on C-Span. They didn't even cover the event for at least the first twenty minutes before I finally switched to Facebook.
That didn't bother you did it?

Really? Not a great turnout? Are you watching the same broadcast as me? There must be over 500K there, plus hundreds of thousands listening on c-span and other places.

thousands listening on c-span and other places.
I had to run an errand and found it being carried on Sirius/XM (Patriot channel). I didn't have to miss Palin's speech!

I have been watching the C-span coverage and it appears that they are extremely careful not to show a shot from any vantage point that would allow the viewer to see the entire crowd. Very low angle shots, tight coverage on small groups, shots of people sitting on the ground with lots of space around them (no idea where they are sitting at). I would like to see a shot from the top steps of the Lincoln memorial or from the Washington Monument.

Welcome to FR, newbie. And thanks for your service to America. However, instead of taking pot shots on a Glenn Beck thread, perhaps you should give valid reasons instead of name calling. That would help for sure.
Also, prepare to be flamed by Glenn Beck fans. You’ve asked for it.
