“The mosque’s backers hope to raise a total of $70 million in tax-exempt debt to build the center, according to the New York Times. Tax laws allow such funding for religiously affiliated non-profits if they can prove the facility will benefit the general public and their religious activities are funded separately.
The bonds could be issued through a local development corporation created for this purpose, experts said.
The Islamic center would have to repay the bonds, which likely would be less expensive than taxable debt.
New York City’s Industrial Development Authority could not issue debt for the center because the state civic facilities law, which governed this type of financing for non-profits, was allowed to expire about two years ago.”

Hell, when was the last time that our government. state, local or federal had tax payers pay for a PUBLIC SCHOOL that was CHRISTIAN?

The problem is, the separation between church and state apparently doesn’t apply to mosque and state. Anything goes with Islam and the usual separations don’t apply, and the ACLU and federal and state governments deliberately turn a blind eye. Kersten’s description of what goes on at the “non-Muslim” Muslim charter school is no surprise to me. We have similar Muslim charter schools in Michigan and Ohio. And, as with most charter schools, the tax dollars flow in, but not the oversight. Small, obscure colleges from far away are in charge of overseeing the schools in Michigan. And they don’t do the job, while Islam dominates the “education” at these madrassahs, er . . . “schools.”
Supposedly, TIZA is a “model” for a national plan of Islamic schools. But, that’s not a “supposedly.” That is the plan and we’re already there. These schools have cropped up all over, and you’re paying for them, while you are not allowed to have your tax dollars go to Christian or Jewish academies.

I feel I should point out at this juncture, in the interests of full disclosure, and for the purposes of popular education, that, I believe, many Catholic schools receive state subsidies. I could be mistaken about that (and appreciate any correction any may add), but I do not believe I am mistaken.
I do not agree with this practice, for the record, not that I don’t think they should receive such funds, but because such funds allow the state to potentially wield control over such schools. I don’t think that happens in practice, but in theory it could, especially in today’s PC climate.
And I am a Catholic of the Latin Rite (Roman Catholic).
Yup, it is a constitutional violation for real, not the made up ones like removing the ten commandments from court rooms, maybe a sharia pillar complete with some pathetic Iman in each court is next from the perspective of fairness..
