Eunice Field, 54, allegedly killed her ex-girlfriends Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor because the woman had reportedly come between the couple. A Massachusetts murder has once again focused attention on LGBT domestic violence.
A Brockton woman walked into that citys police station on Aug. 9 and allegedly confessed to killing her ex-girlfriends Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor because the woman allegedly had come between the couple.
Eunice Field, 54, told police she killed Lorraine Wachsman, 62, at Wachsmans Bridgewater condo, according to Assistant District Attorney Thomas Flanagan.
Field left a note for her ex-girlfriend, Renee Williams, in the Brockton apartment they shared stating that she killed Wachsman, a retired school teacher, for taking away the love of her life, Flanagan said at Fields Aug. 10 arraignment. The prosecutor said Field stabbed Wachsman three or four times in the back and neck with a serrated knife.
Flanagan reported Field was stained with blood when she showed up at the Brockton police station. She showed no emotion, however, when she confessed.
John Darrel, Fields attorney, said his client told police at the beginning of the interview she has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and that she was supposed to be on medication. Darrel did not say whether Field was taking medication at the time of the stabbing.
A judge ordered Field held without bail pending a Sept. 3 court appearance.
This is a terrible tragedy and a painful reminder that partner abuse not only affects survivors but also their community of friends, family and loved ones, said Beth Leventhal, executive director of the Network/La Red, a Boston-based organization that seeks to end LGBT domestic violence. We know that extreme jealousy and possessiveness over ones partner or ex-partner are two of the tell-tale signs of partner abuse.
A death this year in another Massachusetts town also may have a domestic-violence connection.
Annamarie Rintala, 37, was found strangled in the basement of her Granby home March 29.
Police are looking at Rintalas wife, Cara, as a person of interest because she was charged with domestic assault in Oct. 2008 after Annamarie reported that her wife had struck her in the back of the head with a closed fist. Authorities dismissed charges in that case at the victims request.
Police have yet to make an arrest in connection with Rintalas death.
As EDGE previously reported, a Boston jury last February convicted a woman on two counts of second-degree murder for setting fire to a South Boston apartment building that killed her girlfriends two young daughters after an argument in April 2008.
Domestic violence, both physical and emotional, remains a major problem among gay and lesbian couples.
The Gay Mens Domestic Violence Project reports one in four gay men experience domestic violence. The rate is even higher among lesbians. One in three likely will experience domestic violence during their lifetimes, the same rate as straight women.
The Network/La Red said many lesbians have the misconception their space is safe.
We know from the recent cases that women physically and emotionally abuse their female partners, as well as their partners that may identify as transgender, Kaitlin Nichols, director of organizing and education, told EDGE in e-mail. We also know that women have been seriously injured or killed by their female partners, or lost everything and become homeless due to domestic violence. The myth of womens communities as safe communities has prevented many women from reaching out for support. If they have shared what is happening, they are met with disbelief from their community.
Screaming_Gerbil promoting the mental illness of trasnsexualism.
John Hopkins will not perfomr sex reassignment surgeries any more as it caters to peoples mental illness.
Point # 1: I did not add you to the address "To:" field so as not to rile you up. Yet here you still are... ~Sigh~
Point # 2: Please take the time to spell properly. "Perfomr" should be "perform" and "trasnsexualism" should be "transsexualism".
Point # 3: I am not promoting any such thing unless it is determined to be medically necessary.
Point # 4: It is a medical diagnosis. A psych diagnosis for sure, but it is a valid DSM code that gets the doctor visits and meds covered and also other nice to have things like the wheels set in motion with the company Human Resources...
Point # 5: John Hopkins may not perform the surgery, as is their right to decide not to do so. However, a good number of other surgeons and their medical staff and the hospitals they are affiliated with do perform the necessary medical procedures.
I am off to bed. Have a good night, and a pleasant tomorrow.
All out of selfishness.
Not obedience to the Lord at all.
Any comment any member makes on FR is open for anyone else to respond to.
Nit picking about spelling is - laughable.
Anyone who desires to have surgery to mutilate their body so they look (sort of) like the opposite sex, and of course requiring all kinds of backup and ongoing drugs, treatments and whatnots, is mentally ill.
It is never medically necessary, any more than it is medically necessary to have horns inserted into the skull, fangs attached to the teeth, or lips split to resemble an animal’s.
And yes, people do those things, too.
I’m here because one of my main missions on FR is to fight for Moral Absolutes and against the entire spectrum of the “gay” agenda, which includes transsexualism and transgenderism and all other sorts, kinds, degrees and colors of sexually perverse mental illness.

I think I’ve made my position clear.
You? You’re a duplicitous dissembler.
No surprises, there. Insecure people who are insecure about everyone else as a potential competitor.
This will get worse as more have their home/insurance/etc. on the line as part of some formal arrangement, not better.
Marriage isn't the cure for insecurity even with ordinary relationships, if anything it seems to bring out the worst.
I don't think a single instance of homosexual domestic violence has ever been depicted on film or on television; it doesn't fit the narrative the culture wants us to see.
/end sarcasm
Charlize Theron won the Best Actress Oscar for Monster (2003), a film based on the life of Aileen Wuornos, a Daytona Beach prostitute who became a serial killer.
I didn't see it, so I don't know if the violence extended to her lesbian parter, or was just directed outward.
>>> The lesbian subculture is full of domestic violence, drug use, and prostitution
Is there any population free of domestic violence, drug use, and prostitution? Any at all ? Evangelists? Marines ? School secretaries? Authors ? Country and western singers? Congressmen? “True conservatives”?
So what’s your point?
>>> dykes ruined the AA womens retreat in my town. I dont care what they say about tolerence, queers and dykes are malajusted people.
As opposed to the well-adjusted alcoholics in attendance.
Looks like that was purplereporter’s last reply yesterday. I highly doubt he/she/it will answer said question. I as DJ MacWoW do not like liars.

Well, count me guilty of thinking of you as a male too, because of the Mac in your name. I know better now.
John Hopkins quit doing reassignment surgery based on mental health. Patients mental health did not improve after surgery.
Johns Hopkins Psychiatrist Urges End To Sexual Reassignment Surgery
Dr. McHugh says that his research led Johns Hopkins to stop offering SRS for its patients, "... much, I'm glad to say, to the relief of several of our plastic surgeons who had previously been commandeered to carry out the procedures." He observes: "Having looked at the Reiner and Meyer studies, we in the Johns Hopkins Psychiatry Department eventually concluded that human sexual identity is mostly built into our constitution by the genes we inherit and the embryogenesis we undergo."
McHugh says "I have witnessed a great deal of damage from sex-reassignment. The children transformed from their male constitution into female roles suffered prolonged distress and misery as they sensed their natural attitudes. ... We have wasted scientific and technical resources and damaged our professional credibility by collaborating with madness rather than trying to study, cure, and ultimately prevent it."
I thought she worked for a radio station. :)
What you suggest may be possible, but it’s unlikely. It appears that the recent to-do over Prop 8 and Homocon has resulted in an increasing number of pro-homosexual agenda posts here. It seems to me, without any further evidence to the contrary, that that is a more likely possibility.
I agree with Dr. McHugh. It is not kind or reasonable to participate in a person’s mental illness by surgically altering (mutilating) their body. In fact, it is cruel.
Well, today was the first time I ever clicked on her profile, and it is easy to see DJ MacWoW
http://www.freerepublic.com/~djmacwow/
is a woman.
“Im a housewife, mother and grandmother, married to the same man for 40 years.”
If there are any questions about me, I am a male and still mad as all get out that we have a muslime in the white hut.
Yeah. It happens. MacWoW is a “clan” name from over 10 years ago from the Rysher Highlander Forum. It was the “over 40” group of fans. LOL
Grandma ain't hip enough for that! LOL
Yes. It is. There are people who have changed their minds much too late.
Yeah! He's going to hurt our country more too!
Nice catch...
