...hope Beck has a good turn out...the MSM are waiting with bated breath for a chance to slam him...OTOH, if the turnout is large they'll ignore the whole thing.

However many they estimate, add 50% (because they lie) and then multiply times 10 (for all those who wish they could go but can’t).

Will the event be covered on Fox News?

Every time Beck schedules a rally, I am out of town on vacation and can’t go. Last year, it was 9/12. Same situation this time. I think I need to give him a call before I schedule my vacation next year!

They didn’t report a thing about the 9/12 rally and now they are shaking in their boots so much that the inly thing keeping the soles afixed is the glue because the stitching is already severed. They don’t define what success will be so they can claim whatever the turnout, it will be labeled as low, just like they tried for 9/12.

WaPo is clueless (on purpose) - 8/28 is not about politics.

Here is this person writing for the Post and saying that this weekend will make Glenn Beck sink or swim.

If there are a million people there the Post will report that hundreds attended, but the Al Sharpton rally will draw millions.

I will be one of them there and there are two bus’s from my small community going. The original bus sold out in a couple of hours they had to get another one.I look for a good crowd.

LOL. Why do we never see the Washington pile of comPost talk about the “strength” of B.O.’s ideas?

I never thought of Glenn Beck as THE LEADER of the Tea Party. We all are Tea Partiers now. :)

How many lefty commentators and bloggers will compare Beck’s rally to a gathering of Nazi Brownshirts in 1931 Germany???

Another opinion-based diatribe masquerading as a factual article from the “AP”

One day we’ll stop organizing for media influence & start organizing for impact.

he will test the strength - and potentially expose the weaknesses

Bravo Sierra! Beck is NOT the leader of the Tea Party.

But with just a few days before the Beck rally, basic questions linger, including how big it will be and whether the event, which Beck says is nonpolitical, will help or hurt Republicans in November.

I'm sure that racists, race baiters and political hacks from all parties will hate it.

***Glenn Beck rally will be a measure of the tea party’s strength**

and the MSM’s ability to do new, newer and newest math measurements on crowd calculations.

Glenn requested specifically that participants not have signs....this is not a protest ...it is an affirmation of American values: faith, honor and truth.

I wish I could be there, but I can't make this one. I was in DC for 9/12 and 11/4, and several more local actions. It is invigorating to be among kindred souls during these troubled time. I hope it goes well.

What these lefty media types won't admit (or maybe don't understand) is that rallies are only part of the picture. In addition to, or instead of, rallies, many of us have shifted focus to getting our candidates elected. I'm now on my local GOP committee, and working hard toward November and beyond. We have a lot of new energy and new faces, which is very good news. On the local level, the tea party movement has infused new energy into our campaigns, raised the profiles of conservative candidates, encouraged new people to get involved, and helped to define the message. If some of these lefties look at the 8/28 rally as the only indicator of tea party strength and choose to downplay what is happening, they choose to underestimate their opposition. That's OK with me.

I was going to attend this rally...until Beck made his boneheaded comments about gay marriage.

I predict this event will not be as big as he had hoped as a result.

There are 12 busloads going to the rally from our rural location. Everything I’ve seem points to a HUGE turnout.

Just gotta laugh at how Beck is said to have promoted his event “relentlessly,” yet when it comes to Sharpton there’s no such modifier.

Whatever he gets, the timing of this is terrible because of the 9/12 March on D.C., which will cut BOTH groups’ numbers by half. But, of course, the drive-bys know this and are deliberately avoiding any mention of the 9/12 march.
