First, we have no independent confirmation yet about what he said; while we don’t have to assume it is false, we also can’t know that it is a correct quote.
Second, maybe something happened to him or one of his fellow film students that made him angry and fearful of muslims, and looking for revenge. A good news media would research what happened to him in Afghanistan, to see if there is something that caused him to crack like this.
What seems clear right now is that they can find NO connection between what this guy did and the mosque discussion; if anything, on the mosque he’s with an organization that SUPPORTS it, so if you were going to blame someone for bringing it to his attention, you’d expect it was his employer.
My thought was that if an individual leftist would attempt to kill someone in order to further his cause,
what would really committed people, say, 0bama, be willing to do to further the cause of the left?

Heard this AM on Fox that the Muslim victim DID NOT support the Mosque being located that close to the 9/11 site while the perpetrator DID!
This sounds to be 180 degrees different than the left and many in the media originally portrayed it.
It could very well be the Muslim driver told this kid the Mosque shouldn’t be built there and the kid blew up!
Yes, the quote may or may not be true. But it’s probably true. The cabbie seems credible.
The perp isn’t with an organization that supports the mosque. He did some volunteer work for them some time ago, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he did that for “recon” purposes.
It’s the military checkpoint reference that really raises flags that he’s not a leftwinger.
You never know with this stuff, but I just have a feeling that his ideological orientation isn’t going to break the way we want it to.
