Former RNC Chairman Undermines Conservatives
First Things ^ | August 25, 2010 | Joe Carter

Ken Mehlman, President Bush’s campaign manager in 2004 and a former chairman of the Republican National Committee, made a shocking confession today in an interview with The Atlantic’s Marc Ambinger:

Privately, in off-the-record conversations with this reporter over the years, Mehlman voiced support for tax increases and told of how, in private discussions with senior Republican officials, he beat back efforts to support the Bush tax cuts.

The reaction by conservative pundits and leaders was praise for Mehlman following his conscience and being true to himself.

Okay, not really. Maybe in an alternate universe that would happen, but in D.C. it played out much differently. After admitting that he is gay (which is not really newsworthy) Mehlman confessed to undermining the party’s traditional marriage platform:

Privately, in off-the-record conversations with this reporter over the years, Mehlman voiced support for civil unions and told of how, in private discussions with senior Republican officials, he beat back efforts to attack same-sex marriage.

[. . .]

He said that he “really wished” he had come to terms with his sexual orientation earlier, “so I could have worked against [the Federal Marriage Amendment]” and “reached out to the gay community in the way I reached out to African Americans.”

[. . .]

He said that he plans to be an advocate for gay rights within the GOP, that he remains proud to be a Republican, and that his political identity is not defined by any one issue.

So while social conservatives were giving money to the RNC to support the cause of traditional marriage, the chairman was working in secret to undermine the effort. As I asked in my On the Square column today, why do we continue to financially support institutions that actively work to undermine our values? How long will we let the minority within the conservative movement treat the majority like chumps before we say, “No more”?

I don’t suspect that more than a handful of prominent conservatives will chastise Mehlman for his duplicity, but I hope I’m wrong. If you notice any please point them out in the comments and I’ll update this post with that information.

Mehlman can do whatever the hell he wants in the privacy of his bedroom or sexual dungeon, but I've lost all respect for someone who knowingly deceived others in his selfish quest to normalize and legitimize the homosexual lifestyle. As the author says, he gladly took money from those who support traditional values while deliberately undermining their wishes in order to pursue his personal sexual fetish.

He was no help at all. This is why things are worse now than before. We did not change anything.

I will make this succinct:

There is no such thing as a Conservative Sodomite. The two are mutually exclusive for the following single and clear reason.

Conservatives support Limited Self Government.

Limited Self Government is result of Self Control and Self Limits.

Gays. Faggots. Queers. Homosexuals. Sodomites. Are those persons who are lacking the ability to control their lusts.

They lack self limiting, self control.

They lack the very prerequisite for self government.

Our Constitution was written for a moral people and it is totally unsuited to govern any other type of people.

Thus, those lacking self control in their lusts cannot exercise self government, and are therefore NOT Conservative.

They are liars, frauds, simulacrums, impostors, pretenders, fakes, deceivers.

We must in no means, for no reason ally ourselves with them, for it will be the very cause of our undoing.

Ken Mehlman is now an admitted sodomite, is it any wonder the total failure of his leadership on conservative issues?

There is no such thing as a Conservative Sodomite. The two are mutually exclusive. Shame and shun them.

No surprise to me. I knew Melhman was limp-wristed just by looking at him.

I gave a substantial amount of money to the RNC during those years 2005-2007 so it really angers me that this scum was intentionally undercutting the Republican Platform.

Ken Mehlman - just another of the pukes in this corrupt”Two-Party Cartel”. You see, even with a program with the a R or D you can’t tell the difference. They all are bought & paid for by the elites.

BTW - Why wouldn’t a member of the RNC state this. That’s what this RNC has evolved into.

Michael Steele: “I am happy for Ken. His announcement, often a very difficult decision which is only compounded when done on the public stage, reaffirms for me why we are friends and why I respect him personally and professionally."

WTF? Mehlman making a public announcement of some bizarre anal sex lifestyle is "why we are friends and why I respect him". I had to check my eyes to see that I wasn't really reading The Onion.

he remains proud to be a Republican, and that his political identity is not defined by any one issue.

Well, Ken -- now you're out lobbying FOR climate change legislation. Your pansy record on immigration was pathetic. (Don't hurt their feeeeeeeeeeelings!)

You're 0 for 3.

For some strange reason, the “unbiased” and “uncoordinated” mainstream media has been publishing one article after another about how this or that “undermines” the Republican party. No, no bias there.

You are way off base with that.

I could however see them playing ball together, Colin's the pitcher or QB and Ken is the catcher or center.

;)

That’s why we can’t give to a party aparatus, this guy was just another mole working against our interests. This well he agrees with us 70% of the time crap gets old. When the 30% are key issues like illegal immigration, definition of marriage, tax cuts, spending, abortion/pro-life, 2nd Amendment.

The left infiltrates like they are trying to do with the Tea Parties and get someone like Mehlman in a position of power and he subtly sabotages things, that’s what the Scozzafava incident showed us.

How the establishment quickly rallied around her saying you don’t want this seat to go to the Dems, only to change their position when her support totally collapsed and she endorsed the Dem. Look how long they stayed with Charlie Crist, almost until he bolted and did he reward them for their loyalty.

But when we have someone like Jim DeMint, Rand Paul, Sharron Angle, Marco Rubio, Joe Miller that start getting scared because they know they are going to have to work to turn these people into what Trent Lott said “one of us”

I don’t know if I could ever support the RNC, RNCC, or RSC even if I trust the leader. It’s the staff and the people that are in day to day DC that is much of the problem as well. They are interesting in partying, drinking, socializing, and screwing around with left wingers and socialists that gives them opportunities to get info on strategy or gossip that they can feed to their buddies in the media to check out and broadcast.

The only way for a Conservative to be effective is to avoid this crap all the time and be devoted to your district when your not in session.

It is very Old News that GW Bush allowed the Left to infiltrate and attack conservatism. We see the same today with the Michael Steele RNC.

Nope - and neither is this:
