What is the “underemployed”?
Got me.
“I was taken back that she asked me.”
Actually, the phrase is “taken aback.” It has to do with a square-rigged ship sailing close to the wind and the square sails “on the bowline,” meaning they were tied by ropes on the leading edge leading forward to keep the leading edge from curving away from the wind. If the ship turned too close to the wind of the wind shifted forward, the square sails would be blown backwards, creating a very dangerous situation.
Not only would it cause the ship to slow suddenly, it could cause a dismasting because of the sudden shift in pressure and loads on the rig. It would scare the heck out of the officers and crew. The helmsman could be whipped for causing this to happen.
Which is why it is such a great expression.
(Sigh) Yet another of the libs' favorite "Don't confuse my dialectic with any of your sillya$$ facts" lines.
Next time she pulls that crap on you, ask if she'd like to continue the discussion long distance with a college instructor who has had to deal with some of her sorry results.
On second thought, keep her away from me. I'm so sick of that pompous line of sh** from folks around here, I'm liable to just grab her by the nap of her neck and rub her nose in something. (Most local "educators" I've encountered over the last few years tend to head for cover as soon as they see me coming.)

LOL. Never really thought of that. Stupid Nasa.
OchoCinco rocks! Screw the NFL. I love that he changed his name just to spite ‘em.
When do we get, ‘I’m sorry America, I talked all that smack about Bush’s economy, then I made a bad economy worse with my Democrat-Keynesian attempt’?
I thought I was going to get ONE day free from hearing about the Senate race here. Thanks a lot caller for ruining my day.
BTW - Tea Party here is not the same as everywhere else. They are mostly third partiers and libertarians.
Good caller right now....
This fella reminded me, everyday, print some Freeper wisdom out and leave it where the uninformed may gain some knowledge. The uninformed electorate is something we can effect
Not gonna happen
