Charles Krauthammer: The Palin Effect
conservatives4palin ^ | Tuesday August 24, 2010

In this video Charles Krauthammer speaks about Sarah Palin's endorsements, the current MSM story line about her is that her star power is fading and He explains why that story line is wrong.

He points out that but for Palin's endorsements people like Nikki Haley, Joe Miller and many others would be nobody's and going nowhere. He then goes on to state, that unlike the "closing endorsement" such as that given by Eisenhower in favor of Nixon in 1960 -- Palin's endorsements are "a jump starter for the candidate and after that you are on your own." So,looking at how many wins she has had is not the proper way to evaluate the strength of her endorsement, but rather the power her endorsement has in shining a light on a previously unknown candidate and/or shaking up a race...(see Brian Murphy in Maryland and at that time Nikki Haley in SC)

Krauthammer's original criticize Sarah Palin in the Health Care Debate, where he told Palin disdainfully to "leave the room". but here you have Krauthammer expressly defending Palin and correctly so.

Palin’s endorsements are helping to undo eight years of the Bush administration fighting to exclude conservatives from holding office as Republicans. The administration was largely successful and, as a result, the conservative “bench” of state and local office holders is pretty weak.

Its been said that if you dont like the direction of the political parties the time to be involved is not so much the general election seasion but raather during the primary campaign season. Thats what Palin has done. She’s trying to change the direction of the republican party and the direction of her country. If she were simply betting on horses then that would be different. Also, many of these endorsements are an attempt by various people to barter to play a role in that persons administration. Sarah has no need for that.

Re-think this Charles. Sarah is a sledgehammer.

Posts are pounded into the ground a tenth of an inch at a time.

Sarah is a sledgehammer, in my view.

So Chuck’s finally coming around, eh? Seems that he has some crow to eat now considering that he pronounced her DOA politically after resigning last year and then to “leave the room” during the “death panel” debate when she proved that she was not DOA.

Let's just say that Charles is no longer an Obama believer.

He's now taking baby steps to get out of his intellectual bubble.

This is one of them.......

I was impressed with his take on this, cause I think he is right. Palin endorses, the media buzzes and people stop and take a look at the candidate.

——Palin’s endorsements are “a jump starter for the candidate and after that you are on your own.”——

This is the smartest thing CK has said about Sarah. The thing is however most of us knew this already ^.

It's pretty clear isn't it?

Once she started with the endorsements each one bumped up seriously, they didn't all win, but all of them were given a huge gift (and lift) in their polls.

There are some pretty good ones left that she helped too.

Krauthammer is an elitist snob, but he’s also very bright. Good to read he isn’t stuck on stupid where Palin is concerned.

Here in Ga. Handel would have made a sorry showing
in the primary WITHOUT the endorsement of Palin,
as it was she almost beat Deal.

That’s an effect and one not to be sneezed at.

Yep. Charles has some good moments, and this could be one of then and then again, he just might be wrong about Joe Miller and I hope he is dead wrong!
