As a likely reflection of how challenging the nation's political environment has become for Democrats, President Obama on Tuesday jumped into the governor's race in, of all places, California, which his party has taken for granted for years -- except when it comes to fundraising. In an e-mail to many of the millions of names in the contact list of Obama's Organizing for America perpetual campaign operation, the vacationing Democrat urged his supporters to also support Jerry Brown, one of the Golden State's more enduring politicians who should need no introduction -- nor help...

In other words, Barry continues his most recent in a series of luxury vacations while David Axelrod is slumped over his computer e-mailing P.R. literature under Barry’s name.

Sorry Candidate Moonbeam—you just got the kiss of death. It was a nice race while it lasted but it just ended for you. Here’s hoping Governor Whitman does a great job!

I'd rather juggle chain saws than vote for Whitman.

Brown? lol...

I'll vote independent, or not at all.

This is probably the best news Meg’s had all week. Let’s hope his streak continues!

This attitude keeps the RATS in office. Why waste your vote for someone who doesn’t have a prayer of winning? I just don’t understand this mind set. A vote is a precious thing to waste, and we should enjoy the privilege while we have it.

How do you construe voting for Meg Whitman as a vote for Boxer?

You don't get it...

Most of the population out here has had a belly full of these liars...

The better of two evils shtick no longer gets it.

Whitman is a fraud and really bad liar.

Unlike the political frauds littering the landscape nowadays, I'm not selling my principles to the highest bidder.

Ya wanna compromise your conservatism and hire these wealthy frauds and connected insiders?

Be my guest.

Unfortunately, this is the same argument we had for not voting for McCain. At this point, it is merely self preservation. No conservative has any illusions about Meg Whitman, but Jerry Brown would be much worse- just as Obama has been.

This attitude keeps the RATS in office.

Attitude? You have no idea about attitude...Attitude has been replaced by razor sharp jaded contempt for these lying AHs and frauds.

Why waste your vote for someone who doesn’t have a prayer of winning?

Ya think I'm buying that old worn out Republican shctick? They beat that to death...Not again.

No sale slick.

By doing that, you will give one vote to the Moonbeam. Oh gad, can we really stand to have him again? An aging, senile Commie hippie.

Whitman is Arnold's 3rd term.

I do not disagree with that. It's just that a rubber stamp democRAT would be worse. Much worse.

If the best that so-called conservatives can do is her I'll again pass on this. Better to put a (D) in because there is no hope of recovery from this state. As nationally the only way to get things back is for a total collapse. Until then it's the drip drip..

Who's "Meg"? This is the only Meg I know, Mons Meg, and she was pretty fierce -- until she got overloaded and self-destructed.
