It’s hard to come up with a derogatory name for whitey because... well, being called a member of the most successful culture to exist on earth just simply isn’t an insult.

Most white children are raised hearing the old saying “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” Black children are raised to consider the n-word as having some special power over them.

The whole n-word thing would go away if those who are offended by it simply stopped letting it get a rise out them.

I know that's an over-simplification but so much of the damage that word is claimed to do is self-inflicted.

One hundred years ago you might have had a point. Now it sounds like whistling past the graveyard. Pride comes before the fall. A properly humble goal would be to collectively wake up in time for simple survival.
