Interesting isn’t it? I worked with one from Guadalajuara till very recently. Pushing 40 and one very nice looking Indian princess and a very sweet, stand up person. I would have liked to seen her in her prime, she could have won some pageants without a doubt.

Mexican society is still heavily stratified. The Europeans that colonized Mexico are at the top.

You especially see it in entertainment: they are almost indistinguishable from Americans, because we have similar European origins.

The (original) native population is still at the bottom, just scraping by.

That is how Mexico is. The indigenous looking ones are the poor folks. The ones with the money are more European in appearance. Its been this way for centuries.
