WASHINGTON Mitt Romney, having met last weekend in New Hampshire with the staff of his 2008 presidential campaign, is preparing to embark on an aggressive schedule that will take him to more than 25 states in what is seen as a prelude to another possible White House bid.
The two-month itinerary will launch a cycle of politicking for Republican midterm election candidates that will make Romney one of the nations most visible politicians in a year when he is not on the ballot.

“Great, another McCain. If the Pubs want to get shellacked again, then nominate Romney.”
10-4 that!!!! I suspect the democrats will cross over in the primaries, as they did for McCain...
Romney is the New England version of Harold Stassen. Or Don Quixote. It is too bad he has the presidential bug. He has talent that would be useful, and he would likely make a fine Secretary of Commerce, or some other senior bureaucrat. Instead he trots around wasting his personal fortune. Sad. Very sad.
NNNNNNNNNNnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Issenberg. That would be Jewish, right? Hmmmmmmmm!
Romney. Another Bob Dole, except he doesn’t need Viagra. Maybe.
Romney may be the best choice. Can you think of anyone else that may be able to remove the nation from the huge mess the congress made? Both parties are responsible for the enormous mess.
"As U.S. real output grew 13 percent between 2002 and 2006, Massachusetts trailed at 9 percent.
* Manufacturing employment fell 7 percent nationwide those years, but sank 14 percent under Romney, placing Massachusetts 48th among the states.
* Between fall 2003 and autumn 2006, U.S. job growth averaged 5.4 percent, nearly three times Massachusetts' anemic 1.9 percent pace.
* While 8 million Americans over age 16 found work between 2002 and 2006, the number of employed Massachusetts residents actually declined by 8,500 during those years.
"Massachusetts was the only state to have failed to post any gain in its pool of employed residents," professors Sum and McLaughlin concluded.
In an April 2003 meeting with the Massachusetts congressional delegation in Washington, Romney failed to endorse President Bush's $726 billion tax-cut proposal."

Socialized Medicine Romney. Wrong election cycle for ‘ya bud. 2008 was your shot and even with all your money you blew it. Voters didn’t like you.
I agree it is a mess - but I voted for McCain to my shame and am not going that route again. I have decided I will be “Loser” before I “settle” again.
You are absolutely right. He does have some good qualities but his planet-size ego makes him act like a buffoon.
I’m embarrassed to say I don’t know all the goofballs in that photo. Goof One, Kennedy, and Goof Two, Romney... who are the others?
If he is, then we are soooo screwed.
Romney is the equivalent of herpes to the conservative movement. No matter how you try to get rid of him he keeps popping up.Now that's very, very funny. But also very, very sad.
I can hardly describe how disgusted Ill be if this guy successfully buys the GOP nomination in 12.He can't get the nomination. He can screw things up, but he can't get the nomination. More likely is that his presence somehow throws the nomination to the other Top Dweeb, Huckasuck.
You’re right, in that if Huck takes Iowa and Romney, NH, then one of those two could well swoop in for SC and be on his way. But I think either of them could pull it out. Remember, all those blue states get delegates too—and Romney is their kind of Republican.
You’ve got to be kidding me! Romney was for Obamacare before it existed and he supported the bailouts and stimulus. He was completely rolled by the legislature in MA and overwhelmingly appointed Democrats to the MA bench. And there’s not a chance Americans boot the now largely discredited Obama if Mitt Isuzu is the option.
The RNC is already having trouble raising money. Conservative activists hate the party leadership and the leadership disdains them right back. If you're a Democrat, "another McCain" is just what the doctor ordered to tear the opposition apart and prevent the re-emergence of a Conservative coalition.
I believe that 2012 is the last chance for the Republican Party. Nominate another wishy-washy, centrist Progressive-lite liberal, and their reason to exist will evaporate like dew on a hot day.
Romney won an election once, he was the 4th Republican Governor in a row, in a state that usually elects Republicans for Governor.
After his efforts, he was forced to give up his plans for reelection, he left the office with 34% approval, and a Democrat replaced him.
Does that indicate that a promotion to President is called for?
Thanks!
