I thought the baby boom was 46 to 64. Matter of definition, obviously.

You are correct, check government documents and Federal definitions.

Post WW2 when troops started coming home and impregnating their wives, that would make it '46 when the babies started coming.. I was born in 45.

I was born in 1961. What do I have in common with someone born in 1946? Vietnam was over before I was a teenager.

1954 to 1965 is Generation Jones, culturally distinct from the Boom Generation. Originally postulated as a “boomlette” Generation Jones was absorbed by govt statistical analysts into the Boom Generation. It now has been recast as Generation Jones. These are the people who when they first voted in mass numbers did so overwhelmingly for Ronald Reagan. Jimmy Carter was an embarrassment to us. I was born in 1960 - I was punk, pro-nuclear, pro-life, pro family, healthier, more involved in technology faster, developed distinctly anti-Liberal, pro-Conservative viewpoints. As a “townie” in Madison WI I argued constantly with the professional leftists who’ve overrun the University here, am to the right of most Republicans (I work for the RPW at their State headquarters in Madison.) The biggest problem is that we are small in number and we’re the fringe to Generation X (I married an X-er who was born in 1969).

It is 46 to 64, but lately all kinds of people are trying to redefine it, and to make Obama a member of another generation.

I believe that there is some dispute amongst authorities as to what years constitute the “baby boomers” group. I was born in 1961 - the majority would say that was the back end of the baby boom, but there are some who say it was not and that I am...whatever the next generation was called - Gen X?? I don’t know.
