Texas: Hispanics taking population lead
DALLAS morning news. ^ | 8/9/2010 | DIANNE SOLÍS

Hispanics for the first time outnumber non-Hispanic whites in Dallas County by a slim margin, U.S. Census Bureau numbers show...

Texas was officially deemed a majority-minority state two years ago. But county by county, the state is becoming increasingly Hispanic, the Census Bureau reported in its 2006 update.

In Dallas County, minorities made up nearly 64 percent of residents in 2006, with Hispanics making up 37.7 percent of the population, compared with 36.1 for non-Hispanic whites.

The sweep of change – brought on largely by Texas births by Hispanic women – has tipped nearly every major urban area of the state into what the Census Bureau terms "majority-minority" status.

The latest census numbers and their illustration of Hispanic growth come as the nation continues a vitriolic debate over immigration – both legal and illegal and largely Hispanic.

Texas school districts have offered bilingual education for more than three decades.

But in recent years, with a surge in the number of students with limited English skills, districts have changed their strategies, offering stipends to teachers with bilingual ability....

Yes, and Spanish is becoming our official language. Those of us in the legal English speaking minority are working our butts off to support the parasitic majority.

Planned Parenthood has to be in a dither about this.

“Majority-Minority”

An example of liberals trying to have it both ways.

The “local color” was welcome until it began to waltz in over the border without a by-your-leave. There are differences in attitudes between the old fashioned immigrants and the new illegale crowd.

Parkland is also home to the second busiest maternity ward in the country with almost 16,000 new babies arriving each year. (That’s almost 44 per day — every day)

A recent patient survey indicated that 70 percent of the women who gave birth at Parkland in the first three months of 2006 were illegal immigrants.’ Crikey, that’s 11,200 anchor babies born every year just in Dallas. According to the article, the hospital spent $70.7 million delivering 15,938 babies in 2004 but managed to end up with almost $8 million dollars in surplus funding. Medicaid kicked in $34.5 million, Dallas County taxpayers kicked in $31.3 million and the feds tossed in another $9.5 million.

The average patient in Parkland’s maternity wards is 25 years old, married and giving birth to her second child. She is also an illegal immigrant. By law, pregnant women cannot be denied medical care based on their immigration status or ability to pay. OK, fine. That doesn’t mean they should receive better care than everyday, middle-class American citizens. But at Parkland Hospital, they do.

Parkland Memorial Hospital has nine prenatal clinics. NINE. The Dallas Morning News article followed a Hispanic woman who was a patient at one of the clinics and pregnant with her third child — her previous two were also born at Parkland. Her first two deliveries were free and the Mexican native was grateful because it would have cost $200 to have them in Mexico. This time, the hospital wants her to pay $10 per visit and $100 for the delivery but she was unsure if she could come up with the money. Not that it matters, the hospital won’t turn her away. (I wonder why they even bother asking at this point.)

How long has this been going on? What are the long-term effects? Well, another subject of the article was born at Parkland in 1986 shortly after her mother entered the U.S. illegally — now she is having her own child there as well. (That’s right, she’s technically a U.S. citizen.) These women receive free prenatal care including medication, nutrition, birthing classes and child care classes. They also get freebies such as car seats, bottles, diapers and formula.

Most of these things are available to American citizens as well but only for low-income applicants and even then, the red tape involved is almost insurmountable.

That's just at one hospital in one year.

Understand this. By doing nothing, we have HAD amnesty for 20 years.

In another 20, this will BE an hispanic 3rd world country.

There is NOTHING going to be done about it.

Now, plan accordingly. Learn Spanish. We lost.

Just think, in another 14 or 15 years the "anchor babies" will start having their own.

Be prepared for a quadrupling in birth rates.

So true. The “illegale crowd” as you put it has a huge sense of entitlement, no education, no respect for our laws or culture and no desire to assimilate or contribute. They are here only to serve themselves. Forgive me if I sound ultra redneck, but I spent yesterday fighting hordes of them as they pushed and shoved everybody else aside at the local mall during tax free weekend.

Seal the border...

How many Texan citizens are being counted as Hispanic even though they are 3rd or fourth generation Americans of Mexican decent???

The statistics are a little misleading.

See what happens when you don’t ‘nip things in the bud’?

It’ll be a race to see who takes over first...Hispanic or mooses.

I’ll take Hispanic.

California is another anchor baby factory state. Same rules. Its illegal to check immigration status for anyone entering emergency rooms and all services are free to be picked up by the tax payers and medicaid.

So its not just childbirthing, but any medical care that provided free to them.

I wonder how many babies are born here to Muslims her, legal or illegal.

I know I see more and more of them at the malls and many are pushing baby carriages and 3 to 4 other kids.

I think they’re having a race for sure.

So its not just child birthing, but any medical care that provided free to them.

As hundreds of thousands of Americans routinely lose their jobs, health care etc....

That’s good for America. For a couple of decades, we’ve had below replacement birth rate.
