Freeper Canteen ~ Sunday Chapel Thread ~ ARE YOU TOO BUSY FOR GOD? ~ August 22, 2010

ARE YOU TOO BUSY FOR GOD?

This means we must commit ourselves to hearing the Lord's voice. How else can we know and do the will of our Heavenly Father? It means that we have a particular commitment to the God-ordained transformation that needs to occur within us so that we may reflect the King of Glory's character. When we decide to be open to the Lord of Heaven, He transforms our lives, and we experience a quietness in our spirit, a confidence in our heart, a dogged determination in our mind, and an increasing faith in our soul. Why not ask God to help you determine whether you are the person He wants you to be? After all, if you are too busy for God, then you really are too busy!

God will provide us with the strength and courage we need to confront and overcome anything that comes our way. So....embrace God's love a-new today, and Be Happy!!

Thanks, Sweetheart!

Could You Get The prayer team working on it?

We Only have enough $$ for two more months and then we will be going into default.

My meager earnings as a music teacher barely cover utilities.

I have never been in this position before and it is very humbling.

They tend to be judgmental and punitive. There seem to be some of that sort on FR. LOL

Yeah. I know that in my head. Getting my heart to trust it is still a growing edge.

That early imprinting is a bear.

Thanks for the reminder.

Confidence In Scripture
August 22, 2010

The Narnia children’s books written by C. S. Lewis symbolize Christian truth. In the tale Prince Caspian, Lewis tells the story of a tyrant who usurped the throne of the enchanted land of Narnia. His young nephew, Prince Caspian, has heard stories of Narnia’s great king who died and rose again to break the power of evil. His uncle dismisses this story as a fairy tale. However, the boy later discovers that the ancient story is in fact true.

Lewis’ intent was to illustrate how skeptics often dismiss the ancient story of Christ as a myth. But, like biblical scholars today, Lewis was convinced that based on the historic evidence, the record of Jesus’ supernatural life is true. Sir Frederic Kenyon, former director of the British Museum, held a similar conviction about Scripture’s reliability. Of this he wrote, “Both the authenticity and the general integrity of the books of the New Testament may be regarded as . . . established.”

The apostles had the same confidence in the record of Jesus: “We did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty” (2 Peter 1:16).

We can be assured that the biblical account of the King of kings is an accurate historical record.

The skeptic questions, doubts, and scoffs,
Protesting truths we hold so dear;
But God’s Word stands, its truth remains,
Proclaiming what we need to hear. —K. De Haan
In a changing world you can trust God’s unchanging Word.

Read: 2 Peter 1:3-16

We did not follow cunningly devised fables . . . but were eyewitnesses of His majesty. —2 Peter 1:16

Thanks! I appreciate that so much!

When hubby doesn’t work, he gets cranky. That’s the worst stress of all.

So the 7/12 schedule is probably a “good” thing... (Always look on the Bright side of life lalala)

I believe you two would have very much enjoyed my Dad. He was a minister of a Non-Denominational House of Worship (not a mega church). The only thing mega was his pastoral heart! A man with a great sense of humor! From his own pocket, he purchased the organ for the church, and never took a dime for his ministering!

He held a job to support not only his family, but his church in any way possible!
