Forty-seven years after Martin Luther King, Jr., gave his famous "I Have a Dream" speech from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, a different type of rally will be convening there. And it is already causing national uproar.
The controversial Fox News host's comments against some churches provokes anger.Conservative commentator Glenn Beck's plans to host a "Restoring Honor" rally on Aug. 28 to "celebrate America" has brought objections from some civil rights leaders, who say picking the anniversary of King's speech is a deliberate way to distort King's message.
Rev. Al Sharpton, president of the National Action Network -- which is also planning a large march that day that ends in the same spot -- has called Beck's event an "outright attempt to flip the imagery of Dr. King." Sharpton said Beck is "circumventing him and distorting him."
Beck, for his part, claims ignorance, saying that he initially planned the rally for Sept. 12, but then realized it was Sunday and didn't want anyone to work on the sabbath. The controversial talk show host attributed the coincidence to "divine providence."
snip/ The New Black Panther Party's Malik Zulu Shabazz has warned that Beck's group will be met with "direct opposition" from his group.

The NAACP, which will be participating in Sharpton's march...
Just wish I could be there.... LET THE REVOLUTION BEGIN!
Good. Malik needs a good beatin.
I believe Dr. Alvada (I think spelled correctly) King (Martin Luther King’s niece) will be with Glenn Beck that day
I've listened to some of it on the radio.... excellent analysis.... Among his many historical points.... Eisenhower was the first to introduce Civil Rights legislation in '56 and it a was opposed by LBJ....Glenn kept asking why we don't read about these things in the history books....
Keep at Mr. Beck!!! Black Americans have been had by their leadership, used, abused and abandoned especially with Barack Hussein Obama. Just check the facts: the highest foreclosure rates of any group in the country, out of sight unemployment numbers for young Blacks and Blacks overall, terrible public education for Black children. Hope they get it, but think it is wishful thinking. To be hoodwinked for so long is not comforting, to say the least. Onward Beck, there is always hope, even for those lost for so long!!!
Je$$e and Al's race hustling is deliberately distorting Dr. King's message. But the left doesn't care about that.
And Nixon not only supported him, but enable the CRA. Nixon supported and signed more Civil Rights legislation than any president in American History.
Damn EEEEvil Republicans!
HIGHLY MISLEADING TITLE ALERT!
That SHOULD read as follows:
Glenn Beck’s Rally Panned by Civil Rights PIMPS, Kicks Off Tea Party Rallies.
There, that’s better.
bttt
Shabazz’s real name is “Paris Lewis” w/the emphasis on the lisp. Just sayin’. :)
Do we really care what a group of racist poverty pimps have to say about anything?
Paris Lewis is a punk and needs a good uppercut.
If I didn't have so much respect for Beck, I'd be there.
Quietly.
“LET THE REVOLUTION BEGIN!”
Actually the Second American Revolution started on January 20, 2009 when the Obama Regime marched into the White House.
Their idea is to repeal the First American Revolution...
So the Glenn Beck rally on the 28th may see the start of the counter revolution.
Being panned by racist organizations is quit the endorsement for us.
I’m so sorry, that link was for another FReeper.
