Indiana Democrat Donnelly blasts Pelosi in new ad

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Indiana Rep. Joe Donnelly is taking an unusual jab at his party's leadership in a campaign ad that refers to climate change legislation as "Nancy Pelosi's energy tax."

The two-term Democrat is pulling a page from Republican strategists in trying to distance himself from policies that have some voters wary.

Brian Vargus, a political science professor at Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis, said he doesn't think Donnelly's criticism of Pelosi will mean much to voters.

"Much of the leadership of the Republican Party has already realized that most people in Indiana don't even know who Nancy Pelosi is, which is why they pulled so many of their ads like that," Vargus said. "Nancy Pelosi is not a household name in this state."

He said there is some anti-Obama feelings in Indiana. But he said the key in the race in north-central Indiana isn't going to be Obama or Pelosi.

"The main issue in this state, I don't care where you go, is economy and jobs," Vargus said. "They care about how bad off are they."

Professor Vargus is delusional.

Agreed. His analysis on Pelosi was accurate in 2006 and even in 2008 she was overshadowed by the Presidential race. To say she's a non factor in this election is delusional.

OK Rep Donnelly, I can accept that you're not happy with Pelosi’s agenda, but who did you vote for for Speaker of the House?

Voters need to understand that any vote for a Democrat could mean retaining the status quo in Congress (Aunt Nan, Cap and Trade, more stimulus, Obamacare).

Surely Hoosiers aren’t stupid enough to believe that Donnelly will vote against Pelosi as Speaker. Every one of these Nancy boys needs to be defeated in November.

The dems switcharoo game is on.....pretend to turn against your party just for a few months (lying for the sake of the American people because you need to get re-elected to help them, the liberals will understand)

So Brian Vargus, as a political science professor in Indiana, believes Indiana residents are quite ignorant: "most people in Indiana don't even know who Nancy Pelosi is"

Quite an impressive job you're doing there in Indiana prof!

Most people in Indiana don’t lnow who Nancy Pelosi is? Honestly, can people in this country be that dumb? Do they live under rocks? I guess the fact they voted in the One answers my question.

Uh, no. Hoosiers do know who Nazi Pelosi is. They certainly know who the president is and that he and Pelosi are tied at the hip by his historically destructive policies.

Oh yes, we know who she is Mr. Vargas.

Also, keep in mind that Northern Indiana is (especially NW) is heavily corrupted by Chicago politics. That blight doesn’t stop at the state line folks. So why would a Dem run away from her in Northern IN?

Professor Vargas said: “...most people in Indiana don’t even know who Nancy Pelosi is...”

A perfect example of how liberals view their fellow citizens.

A vote for any Democrat in the House is a vote for Pelosi.

A vote for any Democrat anywhere is a vote to continue the occupation of America by a foreign communist power.
