Is President Obama good for the Jews? For more and more Jewish-Americans, the answer is no.
In a Pew Research Center report issued on Thursday and entitled “Growing Number of Americans Say Obama Is a Muslim” (tragic in its own right), there was another bit of bad news for Obama: the number of Jews who identify as Republican or as independents who lean Republican has increased by more than half since the year he was elected. At 33 percent it now stands at the highest level since the data have been kept. In 2008, the ratio of Democratic Jews to Republican Jews was far more than three to one. Now it’s less than two to one.
This is no doubt a reaction, at least in part, to the Obama administration having taken a hard rhetorical stance with Israel, while taking “special time and care on our relationship with the Muslim world,” as Robert Gibbs, the White House press secretary, put it in June. If that sounds like courtship, it is.
(It should be noted that the Pew poll was taken before Obama’s bold support for the right of Muslims to build a community center and mosque a few blocks north of ground zero.)
Some of the president’s most ardent critics and some of Israel’s staunchest American defenders — two groups that are by no means mutually exclusive — have seized on what they see as the administration’s unfair and unbalanced treatment of Israel and have taken their denunciations to the extremes.
In September 2009, Obama went before the United Nations and declared, “America does not accept the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlements.”

Me, too. Such a mystery..The only thing I can figure is that the Democrats had control of our government for so long, as well as aspects of our academic institutions and commerce to such an extent that our Jewish brothers and sisters felt the need to grovel to gain some influence in all that..I hope they are beginning to see that everything could be lost if we lose our individual rights.
Not all of the Union vote. I’ve been a union member for over 30 years and about 1/4 to 1/3 of the people I work with are solid conservatives.

Agreed. 2% in close areas can do wonders, why I feel they can’t sway elections is because of the concentrations of Jewish voters in California and NY, traditionally Dem states.
Where they can make a difference is in Florida; which is why I’m so glad to see a movement towards the GOP in key areas. Florida is trending right, even with the problems we have with Greer and the FGOP. Every group that moves in our direction needs to remain there.
We will have a better idea after the mid-terms if Jews are leaving the Dems. The results from Palm Beach, Boca, parts of Miami-Dade and Broward will be interesting. One race in particular should be looked at closely - District 22, Allen West against Ron Klein.
The district is heavily weighted with Republican voters but is 13% Jewish. We held the seat for 26 years until Klein, was able to win on Obama’s coat-tails; he only won by 2-3%, the Jewish vote helped push Klein over the top. Allen is leading with GOP voters, how the Jewish vote goes will determine if it’s a nail bitter or a decisive West/GOP win.

Jewish Voters in America are not a very large group, what they do offer is they fund something like 45% of all typical Dhimmicrat Party contributions.
I’d imagine a shift in Jewish support is basically economic in nature and not some grand philosophical shift.
Good point. Libs are programmed to reduce whole groups to single issues (Hispanics=immigration, women=abortion, senior citizens=social security).
Of course the criticism is fair. It’s exactly O’s agenda.

So true - it seems to be a trait they cannot shake - doing the opposite of what God wants them to do. While we all fall short, the Jews seem to be hell-bent on their own destruction,
Perhaps it's also part of His plan - if they don't go down in flames, it will be even more clear that He exists...
Remind them that NOBODY can convert them and the fact is, while annoying (and to be honest, one reason it took me so long to convert) those who try to convert Jews are few and far between. I remind those in my family or friends who say the same thing that there are WAY more important issues than someone talking to them about Jesus.
The Jewish support for Republicans has gone from roughly 22% to 33%, significant but not earth moving since the starting point is pretty low. And as others have pointed out, Jews aren't just part of the American left, but are often the source of leftist ideology and leaders of the left. And if we should see a more Israel friendly US Dim president in the future, I'd bet most of those moving away from Obama now would move right back into the Dim party.
The thing that might finally move the Jews permanently away from the Dims could be a growing Moslem presence and influence in the Dim party.
Perhaps she will change her mind after she is raped, then buried up to her chest and the first stone hits her head?
My husband too, he’s been Union for 15 years and the line of work he’s in, outside of the military, is almost 100% union (nuclear energy). In his case, his co-workers tend to be 80% Conservative if not even more.
Read the article posted here on Free Republic yesterday about Highland Park, IL and its citizens protesting high park district (local government)salaries. HP has a large Jewish population. It appears that some Jews are waking up to economic reality.
Look at the REAL demographics:
American Jews live mostly in just 30 Congressional Districts.
Nearly all of the districts which feature the largest populations of Jews are in established Jewish communities with stable populations, like New York City, Los Angeles, Southern Florida, Chicago, Boston, Baltimore, and New Jersey.
Not many swing states or districts, except Florida.

Freepers were convinced in 2008 that the "Pumas" and the "Bradley effect" were going to keep Zero from the Presidency. They were 100% deluded.
So with the stories about Jews deserting the Democrats, they show up again and again and have never yet been anything but self delusion by the GOP.
